Posted June 28, 200718 yr Here's the lyrics: Old yellow bricks, Love´s a risk, Quite the little Escapoligist Looked so miffed, When you wished, For a thousand places better than this, You are the fugitive, But you dont know what you´re runnin from, You cant kid us, And you couldnt trick anyone, Houdini, love you dont know what you´re runnin away from, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? Blinded by nostalgia, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? She wasnt raised by the way, That the emperor put traps in the cage, And the days she being dull, Lead to nights readin beer bottles, You´re such a fugitive, But you dont know what you´re runnin from, You cant kid us, And you couldnt trick anyone, Houdini, love you dont know what you´re runnin away from, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? Blinded by nostalgia, Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up? You´re at a loss, Just because, It wasnt all that you thought it was, You are a fugitive but you dont know what you´re runnin away from, She said I want to sleep in the city that never wakes up, And revel in nostalgia, I know I said he wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up but, Dorothy was right though Now ever since people first heard Old Yellow Bricks there's been talk that this song was about Andy, but what does everyone else think? :o I'm not sure tbh. Some of the lyrics fit perfectly to say it's about Andy like 'You are a fugitive but you dont know what you´re runnin away from' for example because Andy just upped and left the band but then again I don't think Alex is the sort of person that would write about this, but then again you get inspiration from songs from things that happen to you, so who knows...
June 28, 200718 yr seems quite to fit in Andy's case... a lot of people already talkin about it... personally i dont care if its about andy or not , cause i love that song n in the end i prefer to make a story of my own about it
June 28, 200718 yr Author Well this is what I don't really get either, I mean if it is about Andy then it's a really touchy subject for the band and everything and more and more people will then begin to wonder if it's about Andy and Alex really didn't want Mardy Bum released as a single because it was so personal and this is quite a personal song as well, so why Domino have chosen to release this is beyond me. Still I don't really care either if it's about Andy. I like the song and the I like the lyrics and there's no proof or anything the song is about Andy, it's just word.
