R&B star Jamelia has spoken about her split from the Parlophone record label for the first time.

 

The Superstar singer has criticised the company for not allowing her to put daughters Teja, 7, and Tiani, 1, before her music career commitments.

 

"I have two children, I'm not going out to work every day leaving them at home and being unhappy with it," Jamelia explained.

 

"I'd rather go with a label that isn't willing to make me do that and I have been approached by many of them already."

 

ugh @ parlophone. i'm glad jamelia's getting back out there!

 

i think she has to wait until her current contract expires first before she can sign anything else, otherwise she may have a lawsuit on her hands (which is what happened with super r&b trio TLC back in the early 90's). i KNEW she'd get interest from other labels though. they're not stupid and neither is she.

parlophone are being idiots about it all. i guess they want their money's worth. but she's still under contract until august/september time i would imagine and then she's a free woman. until then, jamelia can't sign anything to do with record deals.

i think she's definetley got something up her sleeve now. her and her new label are probably waiting until parlophone's contract has expired before they can make it all official and sign on the dotted lines.

 

she said she's writing & recording new material. she's a smart woman. she definetley has plans with regards to her record deal.

she hasn't said officially or anything, i'm just basing it off what i've read and think.

 

she said that she's had interest from other labels and that she's writing and recording her fourth album, so i just think she's waiting to make it official now. i could be wrong.
