July 1, 200718 yr Didnt BOTD get loads of airplay there  im sure it did aswell in like Spain no, "beware of the dog" didn't do anything in australia :(
July 1, 200718 yr thats such a shame asi was believing for some strange reason it was a top 10 hit there
July 1, 200718 yr nah :( it entered at #50 on may 27th and fell out the following week :( :( "something about you" spent 9 weeks in the top 45 though. :yahoo:
July 1, 200718 yr yup :( i'm glad her and parlophone have now parted ways. she can now find a label who will promote her right.
July 1, 200718 yr i cant understand tho why they didnt promote her right as they can do it i mean look at kylie for example they did huge things with kylie
July 1, 200718 yr they basically gave up after "beware of the dog". they got lazy and assumed that song would be the song to save the album. while they did promote the first two singles really well (i'll give them credit for that), they did naff all with regards to promotion for the album at the time it needed it most. a few (and by a few, i do mean a few) fans said there were adverts for 'walk with me' on tv a couple of times, but that's as far as it went. jamelia spoke about the album in interviews and such but that's it. then when they chose "no more" (even jamelia didn't want this song to be released), that basically sealed her fate. promotion for "no more" was terrible. they stuck her on some cooking show at 7am in the morning, made her give a silly interview on popworld (which i believe you've just seen), perform another persons song on charlotte church's show and during the week the single was released, they didn't have her do sh*t. i believe the main two things wrong with her comeback was 1) the choice of lead single and 2) the timing. July 1, 200718 yr tru ethe promo for no more was basially nothing in a way it seemed they wanted it to flop and jamelia was the one to suffer
July 1, 200718 yr precisely. they picked a song that shouldn't have been a single (especially one to re-launch an album), gave it a cheap video (if jamelia didn't look so good, that video would have been thrown in the trash can) and basically did nothing with it when it came out. even after fans were more or less protesting for "la la love" to be released, the label STILL ignored that. July 1, 200718 yr the annoying thing i safter thank you they knew jamelia can sell records and that she did with thank you album and singles
July 1, 200718 yr labels are very shady. that's why i always say when you're an artist, you need to be realllllly careful what you sign up to. i remember pop band Frank released a song without any promotion and it made top 40 (which is good without any promotion). critics pointed out a stand-out track from their album which was set to be released but their label screwed them over and dropped them all because they didn't get a top 10 hit. same with uk r&b girl group The 411. the album and third single received next-to-none promotion and didn't do aswell as people had hoped, so they got dropped. but the funny thing is that they had interest from other labels but their label were being arseholes and said to the other labels "you want their album? give us £_____ (a real high figure) and you can have it". other labels backed down and The 411 were left without a label.
July 1, 200718 yr 411 and th ehoneyz are 2 bands that got really messed around by record labels and in a way the same thing happened that girl band girl thing the company lost interest when there first single only made number 8,number 8 is great for a debut single but they expected a wannabe hit like the spice girls from them
July 1, 200718 yr is that with the honeyz? man, i couldn't keep up with those girls. it was like there was a new girl in every video  "never let you down" and "i don't know" were hot.
