Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning

Number One for 3 weeks: 6th - 26th Dec 2004

Final no.1 of the year, and Maroon 5's best single from 'Songs About Jane'. I was horrified when it failed to make the top 20 as this deserved top 3 success far more than 'Sunday Morning' or 'She Will Be Loved'

 

Kasabian - Cutt Off

Number One for 2 weeks: 27th Dec 04 - 9th Jan 05

New year, new number one and Kasabian's 2nd best single from their 'Kasabian' album. Would have got more weeks, but January was a very strong month. Great video too... shame I couldnt find it on YouTube :lol:

 

Killers - Somebody Told Me

Number One for 2 weeks: 10th - 23rd January 2005

Didn't like this much at first, but it's arguably the Killer's best release to date and has become an anthem for them. Not my favourite song by them, but deserves its success ^_^

 

Athlete - Wires

Number One for 1 week: 24th - 30th January 2005

Their most successful single to date, and one of their most potent (although their best is yet to come ;) ). This is another one that I didn't care much for at first but grew on me

 

Doves - Black & White Town

Number One for 4 weeks: 31st Jan - 27th Feb 2005

Absolutely amazing track, easily my fave one from the Doves, and one of my faves tracks from a very strong year for music. Quite a good video for it as well!

 

Futureheads - Hounds Of Love

Number One for 1 week: 28th Feb - 6th Mar 2005

A band a bit closer to home for me now. Class tune by a good band, and one of my favourite covers of all time. I'm not 100% sure that this would have been given a week back in 05 but it deffo should have ^_^

Wires is an amazing song, was #1 for 6 weeks in my chart! Love Somebody Told Me as well :D

The beginning of 05 was amazing.. I really didn't know who to put at no.1 :lol:

 

There were a couple of good songs that would have made it ordinarily, but it was just too tough :(
