I would join in the excitement if someone could fill me in

Suggy found a website in March where songs are registered. All Will's songs are there and there are two new ones that he's written with Karen and Nitin. :cheer:

Thanks for bringing the news over SWF  http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/angelique20/will1/blissysmile.gif :yahoo:

Here you go F/G. I'm sure suggy won't mind me bringing it across.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread as I've been having a look on the site again and there's some new songs on there now, I hope he's getting on with writing that 4th album.

Glorious Voice, Gorgeous Style, 27 Jan 2004

By K. Olsson-Nelson PhD "Music Producer" (California, USA) -

I learned of Will on the World Idol show, and was just blown away by his vocal gifts. In reverse order I bought "Friday's Child" first, and then this CD. On both CDs he proves just how absolutely stunning a song stylist he is. He uses his voice like a musical instrument, at times sounding almost like a flute or oboe with his awesome falsetto. #4 "Lover won't you stay" is drop dead gorgeous. #7 "You and I", the way he styles this song and lavishes his delivery with riveting passion knocks me out.

He performs this song on his "Will Young Live" DVD and when he kneels before the audience and pours his heart out it is a heartstopping moment. When he sings backup harmonies it adds so many more dimensions in his naturally layered voice. Will's vocal harmonics are just astonishing.

#10 "Cruel to be Kind" offers some tasty, subtle percussive and instrumental treats, and Will's writing skills and styling makes this song dazzling. #11 "Over You" is a way sexy groove, and it cooks! MmHmm. #12 "From Now On" to my ears has a southern USA vibe to it, sort of a jazz-bluesy/country/bluegrass and it is all good.

#13 "Fine Line" Dramatic, majestic instrumental wizardry weaves a tapestry of mood and visual imagary that supports Will's glorious, deeply emotional vocals. It evokes chills. This song alone gives the CD the seal of a true Masterpiece.

Thanks to Iscagill on Devoted.

He should listen to Easy - Will's falsetto on that is awesome :D

It's great when others see what we see :cheer:

A couple more - thanks to Bumbling on D:

Heres the one he did for the Big Band PI album..

One of my major complaints is that we cannot get British Pop Idol on American TV. I totally enjoyed this terrific DVD and the artists who performed on it. Their fresh faces and sparkling talent, their incredible energy and enthusiasm. Moreover, I was greatly amused by the artists' humorous remarks and antics both on stage and back stage.

Will Young will always be king of the roost, in my opinion, because his voice is so spectacular. Gareth Gates has a really young, sweet voice and a good range. One can only speculate that as he ages his voice will become even fuller and richer in tone. I just loved Zoe Birkett and Laura Doherty, the magnetic and delightful, "babbling brook" from Ireland. Hayley Evetts duet with Will is absolutely terrific. And Korben, what a dynamo dancing dude! I loved watching the sparkling faces of the children in the audience. You rarely see this type or depth of involvement with really young children here in America, much to our misfortune. Watching the little guys and gals dancing in the aisles was amazing.

This tour DVD remains a favorite of mine and I play it about once a month to get my Pop Idol "fix", particularly the Big Blue band portion of the show. In my opinion, Gareth's "Mack the Knife" and Rosie Ribbon's "Dancing Cheek to Cheek" were the best genre songs for that portion of the show. Darius Danesh's voice and style of presentation is best suited to this Big Band sound. All in all, a Good Job!

Oh, Wow! This guy's voice is just astonishing. Like a painter or sculpter creating visual images Will uses hes voice to sculpt musical images in an ultra cool, futuristic way this is guaranteed to blow one's mind. Will is a genius. He is light years ahead of anyone else. His magnetic delivery of "Light My Fire" at the "World Idol" contest left me reeling, and I am glad that I taped it. I bought everything on CD and DVD that Will has released the next day

Yessss. I've said this so often - why it's such a personal experience I don't like to share when I am listening to him.

I often get puzzled with some criticism of his voice - and want to say just listen to him - the whole musical arrangement how he uses sound.

Anyone can add a guitar backing to a song - but to use instruments with his voice in the way Will does is artistry.

Can't begin to tell you how those comments make me feel.

Thanks munchkin for posting those fantastic comments on Will's vocals, to actually listen is definitely the keyword when it comes to Will's vocals, no voice has ever moved me as much as his does and that's a fact.

Thanks Munchkin.

Thanks Munchkin for bringing over the brilliant comments. I'm sure that some who berate Will's voice haven't actually heard him sing. The comments are right it's all in the voice. No need for spectacular backings, gyration, pyrotechnics etc to try to get an effect of emotion, the emotion is already there - in the voice.

I think its because he really 'listens'...much more than most people do. I was quite struck when I watched SPE how he commented on the noises of the jungle...he likened it to a musical piece, and when you stoped and took in the sounds, the trees rustling, the birds chiping and the animals he was so right. He was a good ear for sound, he knows what 'works'

:dancing: Ros found another one with Nitin and karen..

Excellent find from Ros, it's going to be interesting to see how many tracks we can come up with before we get the official tracklisting and how many end up on the album. :D

This is all getting very exciting. Seems he's been very busy with Karen & Nitin.

I think you could be right Barb. Haven't we recognised lines in songs that we thought previously may have been a title.
