Thanks chrysalis, I think I'd prefer to see a pic of Will in his white suit rather than a year old dame pic though.

So would I Suggy. For some reason the mags are being very slow in printing one though!!

Goodness me TT - you were quick - thanks. Hope your internet connection is standing up. :)

Thanks for asking chrysalis.

I think at last they've found the problem. Eventually managed to get through to the faults department in Middlesborough. We've been having problems for about a month when they decided to take it upon themselves to increase the speed. Seems this has ben causing the connection to keep cutting out. They've reduced it now & touch wood it seems fine. The silly thing about it all is that we couldn't ever benefit from the increased speed because of the capacity we can receive from our phone exchange.

Bit silly of them to do that without telling you, especially if your phone exchange couldn't cope. Mine was the complete opposite - they kept telling me a faster speed wasn't available, then someone else in the village got it, so I had to insist Orange upgraded me. They then said I could get 8 but I get between 4.9 and 5.3.
Has BJ been offline again? I had to log-in again just now.

Me, too. Doesn't really bother me, though. I think it's all the chart chatters that rock the boat.

News from Will, UK

We caught up with Will this week to discover him cleaning up his London home.

He returned last Friday to find things floating in his lower ground kitchen when, because of the recent bad weather, water came up from the drains.

Will revealed: 'The insurance guy said: "You'll be able to get a better kitchen", and I looked at him stonily and said: "I don’t want a better kitchen. I like my kitchen!"'

It's not affected him getting on with his writing too much however. He told us: 'We're at an interesting place. It's going pretty well and everything feels really good.'

Much more to come from Will in the coming weeks, so keep it here for more updates, new answers to your questions and that very exciting news!

Poor Will, I hope it gets sorted. It is terrible being flooded.

Edited by Pearl

Just seen that Pearl, but you beat me in bringing it over. For your home to be flooded must be a nightmare, not just for Will but for the thousands of others. :( I feel for them all.

It really is awful to have your home flooded, it hasn't happened to me personally, but friends of ours have seen their bungalow flooded 3 times in the 8 years they've lived there, on the second occassion, just 2 weeks after completing all the decorating, new carpets etc. from the previous flood.

A gentle stream that flows 50yards away from their perimeter fence, turns into a raging torrent when there's been a heavy rainful. There's been some work from the rivers authority further down stream which has improved the situation now, but last Friday saw the water rise to within an inch of coming in the conservatory, so they were very lucky.

My mum used to live near to where Will's London house is and those basements are always prone to flood when the rainfull's been too much for our Victorian drainage system to cope with.

Thanks Pearl - looking good for the new songs :yahoo:

Not much consolation when you are standing in the ruins of your home

Watch The Rushes Soho Shorts Festival Anywhere With Babelgum

Fri, 27th, Jul 2007

Babelgum is launching its dedicated channel on the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival allowing film and TV fans or budding new industry talent anywhere the opportunity to sample the best of the festival.

Highlights from the festivals in 2005 and 2006 will feature from today and users can view shortlisted entries from this year's awards from tomorrow, Saturday, 28th July.

The Rushes Soho Shorts Festival is a prestigious annual event within the industry and was launched to support film making talent. Short films by acclaimed directors as well as new talent will grace the festival's screens and will also include music videos. Past winners have gone on to achieve great success across the industry and films entered consistently feature a host of recognisable names and faces including Sue Johnston, James Fox, Mackenzie Crook, David Tennant, Jimi Mistry and Jack Dee.

The festival allows short films from both established filmmakers and newcomers to be showcased, viewed and judged on a completely level platform. The work of all 2007 finalists in each of the six categories will be broadcast on a dedicated Babelgum channel which will also provide access to a wide selection of films produced for the festival in past years.

Those tipped as 'ones to watch' include 'The Sickie' featuring Toby Jones; 'Interior Bedsit Day', a fantasy comedy starring Ian Hart and Peter Gunn, as well as Trevor de Silva's 'Would like to Meet' starring Maxine Peak, also seen in BBC hit comedy, 'Shameless'. The new documentary award sees work like 'Gone 2 Soon' from Dewi Bruce-Konuah, exploring the impact of the murder 15 year old Billy Cox on his community. In the animation category Shaun the Sheep makes a welcome return with 'Off the Baa' written by Chris Sadler.

Shortlisted music videos include Will Young, 'Who Am I?', Oasis, 'The Masterplan', Kasabian 'Shoot The Runner' and Lily Allen 'LDN'.

Previous category winners at Soho Shorts include Richard Goleszowski of Aardman Productions, the company behind Wallace and Gromit, and Michael Gondry for "The Denial Twist" a music video for the White Stripes. Michael's work includes the Oscar winning "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."

Commenting on the festival launch Valerio Zingarelli, Babelgum chief executive said, "The Soho Shorts Festival content adds to the plethora of niche entertainment content currently available to Babelgum users, especially film fanatics or those working within the industry. Both emerging and established film makers who make the final cut can now take their talent to an international stage and further promote their 'shorts' to win.

"Rushes Soho Shorts Festival director, Joe Bateman said, "It has always been difficult to give those located outside of the area the opportunity to view the best in upcoming and established talent within the film and television industry. Using Babelgum allows us to retain the intimacy of the festival, while allowing a potentially huge audience to peek through the curtains at the highlights."
