Can't make up my mind over this one. It's a lot of money to fork out with living so far away but I think it will be my only opportunity to see him this year.

Pop singer Will Young is to join this year’s BBC Proms in the Park, the annual music event held in London’s Hyde Park to mark the last night of the Proms.

Young performs at the 40,000-capacity, NS&I-sponsored event on September 8. He joins a line-up that already includes soprano Lesley Garrett and last year’s BBC Young Musician of the Year, the Liverpudlian clarinettist Mark Simpson.

The event also sees performances from acclaimed Peruvian tenor sensation Juan Diego Flórez and the BBC Concert Orchestra under the baton of Carl Davis. It will culminate in a live video link-up with the Royal Albert Hall and a sing-along with the help of the Royal Choral Society.

Tony Hadley, former frontman of 1980s pop band Spandau Ballet, has also been added to the line-up for the afternoon’s warm-up events, to be presented by CBBC presenters Dick & Dom. Also appearing on stage to help prepare the audience for the main broadcast show will be one-time X-Factor finalist Chico, T-Rex tribute band T-Rextasy and classical duo RyanDan.

Proms in the Park will be hosted, for the 12th year, by Sir Terry Wogan, and takes places in five locations across all four nations of the United Kingdom – Glasgow, Belfast Carrickfergus Castle, Middlesbrough, Swansea and London.

I guess it goes in here, I nearly did a whole thread for it.

Bless you Mikey for thinking of us, :friends: I'm going, I'm going. :cheer:

I imagine that the Proms in the Park will be on BBC1, the Albert Hall bit on BBC2 and then they will join up for the last part.

I am on holiday that week  please please please let the TV Coverage be good . :cheer:

whats he singing?..how many?..  :yahoo:

I shall watch TV, and just keep my fingers crossed that the cameras cross to Hyde Park when Will's singing. And the BBC (or whoever's in charge of the running time) better not cut his set this time.
Actually at the Diana Concert it wasn't run by the BBC, just shown by them. It was organised by another TV company - Live Nation.

I didn't know that - thought it was the BBC.

In which case then Live Nation better not cut his running time.
