Sad for you Chrysalis - hope it all comes right - shame about the holiday. I won't have any more pets.

I won't have any more either Munchkin. It may be selfish, but I just couldn't go through that again.

I really hope BYm+m's cats will be OK.

I don't know TT, but even I'm starting to blame Rihanna and her brolly song being at no1 for 10 weeks, wouldn't it be great if we got a heatwave when she gets pushed off the no1?

I think her run may come to an end next week so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Told you before come to the real north young ladies. OK we had a few drops of rain earlier this morning, but the sun is shining now, and the sky is blue with a few white fluffy clouds. Don't know whether it's anything to do with being near the coast or not, but this area does seem to be extraordinarily dry. I feel really sorry for the people who having such a bad time with the floods.
It hasn't rained here on the Island since yesterday morning. It is lovely today - blue sky, fluffy clouds.
It's ok i found it..it's in the album news thread..

Oh right. Video thread in the album thread - sounds logical.

I didn't think we would have to make the decision so soon.....the cat [Jerry] had a bad turn and though he picked up within a few minutes i could not bare to watch him like that .....so we made the decision, could not believe the way hubby reacted when we did, he ran up stairs and vomited. Jerry followed me everywhere chirping away he had been sleeping in our room since he came back from the vet and he would sleep all night on my chest with his head tucked under my chin...it was horrible particularly on the last night.

Hubby held him in his arms as the vet injected him [ i stroked Jerry's head and talked to him]....john is such a controlled person and very rarely shows his emotions...but when i told him Jerry had slipped away ...he just broke down and was sobbing uncontrollably he couldn't seem to get his breath and he would not let go of Jerry  we eventually took Jerry home and buried him in the garden.

We then rang the vet about Thomas...they said he could not come home and would have to stay on a drip [ they cant work out what is wrong with him] so we went to see him... he is such the opposite of Jerry always was.... he was so lively and demanding attention ..he kept getting tangled in his drip.... you would not think he was ill [ they want to do more tests]

I did not realise that i can see where Jerry is buried from my computer desk ...it hurts to look at it.

sorry for the long post i have barely slept this week and hardly at all in the last few days...so that is probably making even me more emotional.

Oh BYm+m's - I'm so sorry. I can quite understand your hubby's reaction. I was like that when I lost my first cat. I couldn't stop shaking, and wandered around the house for days in a daze, despite that there were other cats (and a hubby at the time) to look after. I was devastated.

Love and hugs to you both. :friends:

I can understand exactly how you feel BYM&M's....I have lost 3 cats through illness in the last few years.

The last one was Holly,in March last year...she was 22 ...it was so hard

I now have another one called Alice and I love her dearly but I never forget the others.

They become a part of the family don't they?

I've always had dogs, our road is too busy for me to want to bring cats there and risk their lives, but as I said earlier in the thread, I seem to have fostering rights on two local moggies. We were in pieces when we lost our last two dogs, and I won't ever have one again. Hubby keeps trying to get me to the local dogs trust pound, but there's no way I'll risk that level of heartbreak again. I send money to the trust, the Blue Cross, The Donkey Sanctuary and the Brooke Hospital as well as WWF, so I keep my links with animals that way, other than that, I enjoy my ponds and the fish that breed in them, I don't get so attatched. :D

I'm so sorry for you and your hubby BYM&M's, it's so horrible to lose a pet and I shan't be getting any more cats after losing Marigold at christmas, big hugs to you. :friends:

My daughter-in-law has had an ectopic pregnancy while on holiday in Rhodes. She's in hospital over there and my son is trying to be with her and look after their 5 year old daughter at the same time. Under 12's aren't allowed on the wards in Greek hospitals apparently. The reps are looking after her today, but it's so difficult. None of us grandparents can go over there, none of us have even got a flipping current passport, and her sister is on her hols in the US.

He's just going to have to cope the best he can until she's well enough to fly home, but the surgeon is very strict, because if he lets her out of hospital before she's fit enough, he risks being arrested.
