It sounded like some kind of wind up. :o A welsh speaking lady who I had difficulty understanding asking whether I wanted the load of manure I'd ordered dumping at the front or the back of the house. When I said I hadn't ordered any she insisted this was the right number & then put a gentleman on the line to confirm what she was saying!

It all sounds a bit fishy to me TT, well $h!tty really but funny. :heehee:

If you're not in, do you think they'll shove it all through your letterbox? :heehee:

I bloody hope not!

Isn't it supposed to be lucky?

I have had internet probelms for months, hubby as spoken to our service provider on numerous occasions but finally gave up when the person he spoke to didn't even know what a router was...so changing provider in 2 weeks

Computer is also working darn slow.... it has a nasty virus hubby changed disk drives so i can at least use it....but he will now have to rebuild the whole damn thing ....almost enough to make me want to give up on the whole stupid thing

Hope you can soon get sorted BYM+M's. Changing my service provider in November is the best thing I ever did. :D

Sorry you continue to have probs with your server BYm+m's. Mine too has been causing problems. The latest thing is they're bouncing some of my e-mails then saying they haven't. I've been threatening to change for a long time, and I really should get my finger out and do something now I've got the last few months out of the way.

Hope your hubby is successful in his rebuild. :D

I have been having problems copying from VHS to DVD. This has been ever since the VCR decided to chew up a tape, so I removed it in order to have it mended. Then when I put it back together I couldn't record from Freeview without keeping the television on. Anyway, after a lot of study on the Internet I discovered how to set the whole thing up and I can now copy from analogue and Freeview.

I have bought myself a program for the computer which helps with copying from VHS to DVD and which you just plug in and play the tape. At least I hope it does! I haven't got enough oomph on the processor as I only have Pentium III and it needs IV and above. :( So now I have to upgrade the processor. More money!

I have lots of tapes - not only with Will's performances etc on them but also films from the past.

Fingers crossed I will be able to up grade.

I hope you manage to get everything sorted out Pearl, I've got most of Will's old performances etc on DVD now, but it's all thanks to friends who've done it for me. :friends: I'm totally useless at technical stuff so I leave it to others.

I've given up trying to get it onto DVD

Some of my stuff on video is a bit grainy as well, so will probably need to try and get hold of it elswhere

What was the name of that site where they sold all Will's performances? Was it the point or something? I remember I bought all the ITV2 Pop Idol backstage stuff years ago. cos I didn't have ITV2 back then

It was The Poynt F/G, but I think they closed down some time ago. :( I seem to remember an e-mail from them to that effect. Shame as they did all of Will's really early stuff, on DVD as well.

I have taken the program back to the shop as it would cost an arm and a leg to upgrade. I have now worked out that I can take the lead out of the Freeview box and plug it into the VCR and the tape will copy to DVD quite easily. I used to be able to do it with no problem before we got rid of the Sky box and got Freeview. Apparently it is something to do with going through Sky which made it easier before but the signal doesn't got through Freeview. My Will friend Phillipa says I can get a switch box for the scart leads from Argos so I don't have to keep removing the lead. I think I will do that.

Glad to hear you've solved your problems Pearl.

You are so clever Pearl - you make me ashamed. I just have little idea of the workings of my TV/DVD/Sky/computer. I always have to get someone else to help if things go wrong.

Did anyone else experience really high winds last night? I was out wrestling with the contents of my bin in the early hours of the morning! :arrr:

It was very windy down here in London too, not enough to do structural dammage I wouldn't think, but I'm glad I wasn't out in it ;)

There was some wind last night, but it could have been the curry I had to eat. Seriously there was some wind but not enough to blow things over. I lived in Kent when the "wind too high to measure" came in 1987 - that was frightening.
