Yes that's what keeping happening to me. Thought it was just this site as I'm not having trouble anywhere else.

Hope you manage to get things sorted chrysalis. Everything today is down too bloody call centres. :arrr: My hubby used to be a lending manager for Barclays. He couldn't get out quick enough once they took all the power away from the branches & made them glorified salesmen. :arrr:

My son used to work at HSBC and he said the same. He had a degree in banking and finance and ended up feeling like a double glazing salesman.

He along with some other managers, slung it in and went to work for London Transport. Everyone thought they were mad, but most of them are now tube train drivers, with a large increase in salary compared to a manager's pay and 8 weeks holiday a year. He loves it, even the shiftwork. :D

Yes I've just got it sorted. I couldn't get into town after all, so, with great trepidation, I called the number again. Fortunately I was put straight through to someone in the UK, and she was able to deal with it pronto. She did say I could have insisted on a transfer to a UK centre, but I don't think the guy would have even understood that.

But it is maddening. :arrr: After all it is our money that may have gone astray, and yet we're expected to deal with someone who can't even speak English properly, and quite often don't understand. Like the time when I had my foot in plaster and couldn't drive, a woman in India told me "Why don't you pop round to your Branch and sort it out". On that occasion it was a different Bank, and I insisted she put me through to the UK, which she eventually did but with very ill grace.

I have a major rant! I accidentally clicked on what I thought was a reply to an article I was reading but it was a link to a website which told me that I was in danger from Trojan horses and other nasties. It scanned the computer and told me I had 68 problems and they could solve it - just click "Remove". I tried to to that but they then asked for $60 for the removal. I called my computer man and he said that there weren't any Trojan horses and my computer was fine but the program had been embedded into my computer and he removed it for me. Some people are so nasty - just after my $60. I wonder how many others have been caught.

The website I went to looked really authentic and seemed to be pukka. It was called xpantivirus - avoid it like the plague.

Thanks for the warning Pearl. I hate it when those links pop up. They are often hard to get rid of. :arrr:

Thanks for thw warning Pearl. My son has put a package on my comp that filters out all viruses.
It isn't a virus though. It is a website which puts pop ups on your computer when you access a web page and then invades!

So it's a Trojan Horse - possibly carrying a virus.. Beware of strangers bearing gifts

In the context of computing and software, a Trojan horse, or simply trojan, is a piece of software which appears to perform a certain action but in fact performs another such as a computer virus. Contrary to popular belief, this action, usually encoded in a hidden payload, may or may not be actually malicious, but Trojan horses are notorious today for their use in the installation of backdoor programs. Simply put, a Trojan horse is not a computer virus. Unlike such malware, it does not propagate by self-replication but relies heavily on the exploitation of an end-user (see Social engineering). It is instead a categorical attribute which can encompass many different forms of codes. Therefore, a computer worm or virus may be a Trojan horse. The term is derived from the classical story of the Trojan Horse.

There was a nasty post on Will's thread on DS. I alerted the mods and it has gone now! No comments were made, luckily, so hopefully it is water under the bridge.

Can you pm me and tell me as well please Pearl? and also their username if you can remember it, I really don't know why some people bother to be honest, it's like a sickness.

I never thought anything could lessen my obsession ... but that info on the thread on D as really deflated it :( i suppose it might be a good thing in the long run

Edit: just to say still love him and unless i hear more factual info on the subject i will carry on, maybe the shine as been rubbed off a bit but like i said above that is probably a good thing ...i was a tad obsessed http://bestsmileys.com/love2/14.gif

I saw it, but personally I didn't think there was any truth in it. It was just some toerag trying to stir s**t. :arrr: Thanks for getting it removed Pearl.
I saw it too and it is probably just someone trying to stir up the Will fans.

I didn't see it, although I have a feeling I might know what its about....but I really don't care what people say. I love Wills voice more than anything else & even if he were to be the biggest cad in christendom it really wouldn't make any difference. The cd player only picks up his voice & thats the most important thing to me, I see him as a sweetheart & thats a bonus...but if it were to turn out not to be true.....hey ho...I can live with it

Remember there are always two sides to every story & unfortunately we never ever get to hear Wills take on anything that happens, he always lets it go.....maybe thats bad...I don't know, but I refuse to prejudge without knowing ALL the facts.....not that I know ANY atm

I did not see it either though later that night some kind person filled me in :friends: personally even if it was true it would not put me off him.... i would be sad for him but it would not effect the way i think of him [ there are possibly only a few things that could do that] and it definitely would not stop my album buying or tour going :D

Let son on the pc for a few minutes & missed Will at the Sony Radio Awards.

Reading his intro cheered me up a bit. :cheer:

"This award will be presented by a man who's gone from TV to the charts with sales of over seven million records to film to theatre and this summer to the festival circuit. A true man of music, Will Young. "
