April 10, 200817 yr imo as far as pop and r'n'b tracks mariah knows what she is doing and can continue to serves up superior tracks, she has got that platinum voice which is smooth (it may be too slick for some people), but its soulful, vulnerable too and has feeling. forget the fact she has range and power. on this album you believe what she is singing especially in her personal tracks there is authenticity. thats really crucial that she writes and produces otherwise she would just be a singer and wouldn't really appeal to some (me included). thankfully the artistry is making her an artist not just a singer. songs like "side effects" resonate, it could only come from her and could only be sung by her, its always the personal tracks that are the most interesting on an album like britney's "piece of me". its important to give your fans and the wider public something real that they can connect with. she is able to do that so she is more than worthy. you don't get musical surprises or risks with mariah so maybe that why some see her as being "bland" but judging her within the r'n'b/pop genre she is incredible delivering up high quality tracks.

Not being funny Yoshipoo but that is all rather a bit rich coming from an Anastacia superfan. ;) Who has heard the bonus track? Heat? It's alright, quite a lot of synths. It's not bad, but I think it sounds like 2 songs just mashed together. :heehee: Best leaving it as an album track. ^_^

April 11, 200817 yr Just heard Heat and i'm not too impressed. Didn't really hit me on first listen. I can see why it was left off the album.
