Woo for Janet, Brandy and Beverley Knight. :yahoo:

Cassie didn't deserve to be that high. I would've placed Mya, Ashanti and Christina Milian above her.

She's so under-rated. Fear of Flying and Moodring are great albums.

Destiny's Child released their debut album in 1998. The line-up of LaTavia, LeToya, Beyonce and Kelly, the latter 2 being cousins, released the album Destiny's Child to immediate success; the record was certified platinum and the lead single went to 3 in the US and 5 in the UK. It was follow-up record The Writing's On The Wall, however, that launched them well and truly into the big-time; that record sold an incredible 8 million in the US. The album spawned 3 mega singles in 'Bills Bills Bills', 'Jumpin Jumpin' and 'Say My Name', but things had become tense within the group; LeToya and LaTavia felt that Beyonce's father and band manager Mathew had taken too much control over the group. They soon left and two new members, Michelle and Farrah, joined the girls for the 'Say My Name' music video. Farrah did not last long either, leaving the group for personal reasons, but the trio of Michelle, Beyonce and Kelly was now set in stone.

Third studio recording Survivor was launched off the back of two number one hits; 'Independant Women', the themetune to the Charlies Angels film of 2000, and 'Bootylicious'. 'Survivor' was also a huge hit and the album itself, which debuted atop the Billboard Albums Chart with first week sales of over 650k, went on to sell over 4 million in the US alone. Destiny's Child were by now megastars of the music world and decided to take a break and record solo albums. All 3 members recorded successful solo records before coming together again in 2004 to record a fourth studio albums as a group. The result was Destiny Fulfilled, reportedly written and recorded in a timespan of just 3 weeks. Media hype around the lead single was huge and it did not disappoint; 'Lose My Breath', a sexy uptempo track, reached number 1 on the World Chart. The video is notable for the fact that the girls have a dance-off with twin versions of themselves. Subsequent singles 'Soldier' and 'Girl' were also a success and the album has sold a reported 10 million copies world-over. Destiny's Child are the biggest-selling girl group of all time and rumours persist that at some point in the not-so-distant future, they will recreate the winning formula once more.

go beyoncé's children!

Thought they would have been in the top 10 :o

I agree that Mya's underrated, haven't got her debut album though!!

TLC were an R&B trio consisting of T-Boz, Left-Eye, and Chilli, the nicknames of 3 girls from Atlanta. They released their debut album in 1992 but it wasnt until the follow-up in 1994 that they became mega-stars. CrazySexyCool was one of the first albums to be certified Diamond in America, for sales of 10 million copies, and is considered the biggest-selling album of all time by a female group. 'Creep' and 'Waterfalls' were amongst the huge singles released from the album, both topping the Billboard Hot 100, and are still considered R&B classics today. 1999's Fanmail album, TLC's 3rd studio recording, was also an incredible success, shifting 6 million copies in the US and 10 million worldwide, and producing the hugely successful hit 'No Scrubs', which is their most successful in the UK. Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes tragically died in a car accident in the Summer of 2002, shortly before the release of the 3D album. The release went ahead but Lisa featured on just 4 songs and the album was not especially successful, selling 3-4 million worldwide. Chilli will release her own solo album later this year; whether or not TLC ever re-unite, with or without a new member, remains to be seen.

WOW TLC beat Destiny's Child, didn't see that coming

tlc made more of an impact in the music industry than destiny's child did (no hating), so i wasn't suprised

go TLC!!!!!!!!!!!

you're kidding right, jark?

And success isn't defined in numbers. It's defined by your legacy and your impact. And BOTTOM LINE without a doubt there is going to be more in the books about TLC than there will be about Destiny's Child. PERIOD. TLC were innovators in their music, message, sound, and even their looks. Sorry., Destiny's Child fans. But Destiny's Child looks like every other girl group. Vocally they are not the best. Their music is hot FOR THE MOMENT and most of their sh*t sounds dated as hell now. And most of their messages basically rode the coat tails of what TLC had already said before them. You can not compare them on a level of WHO IS BETTER because DESTINY'S CHILD ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE COMPARED TO TLC. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. That alone says who is made more of an impact and is more successful.

Well musically I prefer Destiny's Child. Their music is catchier, more commercial, sure they didnt define an era or anything but for me the music is better.

Plus, didnt TLC underuse Left-Eye drastically on the Fanmail album? I dont like that kind of unequality in a group.

how you gonna sit there and say "i don't like that kind of unequality in a group" and then brag about destiny's child?

lisa recorded on about 6 or 7 songs. her sh*t was left off because of petty little arguments going on in the group with t-boz, chilli and their producer dallas austin.
