I always thought Scotland was the North, I live in the North-West in Lancashire, about 30 mins from Manchester.

It is and where I am is 24 miles south of the border. So that makes it the very tip of Northern England - you know the part they always leave off the weather map.

Funny you should say that my daughter always comments how we are missed off the map too.

My husband used to get really annoyed when we used to get chatting to people from down south when we were abroad. The number who thought Sunderland was in Scotland was unbelievable.

I can believe it TT. And the number of people who think Northumberland is either just past Watford, or somewhere near Yorkshire!!! Even as a southerner living in the south, I knew my geography! Mind you what with Harry Potter and the Gardens, I think people are starting to become educated!!

Incidentally haven't you an Air Show this weekend, or was it last? Used to love going to the Biggin Hill Show.

Yes it's the airshow this weekend. I've been hearing the planes roaring over head all day. Let's hope the weather behaves itself this weekend.

What used to upset hubby was that he used to know the whereabouts of much smaller places down south yet faces used to glaze over at the mention of Sunderland.

Hasn't your hubby twigged by now TT - for many nothing exists apart from the south, so why should they bother to find out about somewhere which is non-existent

Hope the weather keeps fine for the weekend.
