Sorry about that DD but at least AS Levels gives them a wake-up call and there is plenty of time to put the work in and improve before A Levels.

At least the waiting's over.

Does that mean Claire will get into the course she wants, Nina?

I hope Andrew isn't too upset, dd. As Nina says, As levels are only the mid-point. There's a whole second half to play.

In Scotland, school appeals for higher grades are usually successful, provided the schools have the course and exam work to back them up. Is that done in England?

Getting in to the university she wants will depend on how well she writes her application form and personal statement, how well she does at the interview and of course getting the right A Level grades (she will need all As).

You can appeal for higher grades but they aren't always successful. We appealed last year for Claire's French because she was one mark under an A*. Initially it cost us £30. The appeal was successful and they gave her the A* increasing her score by four marks. The school then gave us the money back.

well done Claire :)

Sorry Andrew didn't get the marks he hoped....will he be able to pull them up with work or will he have to re-sit some?

My son got E's when he did his....I was thrilled...never expected him to pass as he had only done foundation GCSE's and the difference from them to AS level is HUGE.

He didn't continue though, but I am still pleased with his effort :)

Does make me wonder how he would have done given different chances

It's not Chico time but Zebedee time for me now - "Time for bed!"

I'll have to stop going to the country. It's obviously bad for us night owls.

Claire got her AS level results today. She did brilliantly and got four As

Wow!!! Well done Claire  :cheer:

Julie

Thanks very much Julie.
well done Claire :)

Its not the end of the world. He will resit the fail and on the geology he can resit 1 module that was low so hopefully bring it all up to a higher mark he is just so disapointed with the PE as he got some A's in his practical and course work.

Glad he knows what he can do to improve the grades.

Give him a big hug.

They are such a big jump from GCSEs they need assistance with how they should write answers....buzz words and that

I also feel very sorry for them as it's seems such a rush doing the AS then A2 they never get a breather

I've spent the last few days being a day ahead....it's been very confusing.

Must remember tomorrow is Sunday...church...and Darius' Birthday :cheer:

I hate when the days get confused like that and your head is on a different day to reality.
I hope Andrew is Ok, dd. Boy's often have this problem - it doesn't mean that they don't get there in the end. It looks like all Claire's revision payed off. Well done.

Thanks Meg

Good to see you back.

I thought I'd put puppy pics on here - they go to their new homes in a few days.

The Mum is one of the lovliest nature dos I've known. I can't tell you how tempted I was to add one to my household.

They are beautiful. There's quite a bit of competition when all 10 pups want you to pick them up.
