 don't Nina.....you may have bad dreams again

If only drink was the cause of my bad dreams, then it would be easy to stop them.

I don't have any alcohol in the house anyway :(

I blame this hot weather, my dreams are getting very farfetched and wierd. but at least I havent jumped up and over the bed and puched the wardrobe lately,

Well stop drinking it then, Nina. Better in the house than in you giving you bad (well, as bad) dreams. You're going to hit me on Monday as well, aren't you?

Is that something you normally do? I feel left out here. I just try and sleep. So unadventful.

...and you do that frequently.....

I havent punched the wardrobe for a long time,. I have always had vivid dreams..and I made a point from an early age to think about them on waking..if you do that you recall them, if you dont capture the memory immediately you wake up you lose the memory of them.

I used to have night terrors as a child and was prone to sleep walking..and carrying on a dream while waking up, I was dreaming an intruder had come into the bedroom, and was obviously waking up, so jumped up to punch the intruder in the face..only to realise I had fully woken and was punching the wardrobe!

thats why I dont beleive in ghosts..I have often "drempt" while thinking I was awake that there was someone in my room as a teenager, usualy a deceased relative, once the family dog that had died or heard voices, its that midway between sleep and waking.

as a child I used to worry that I wouldnt know if it was a dream..as I used to dream about opening my window and flying across the valley..LOL and have a habit of dreaming within a dream where I wake up..thinking I am now awake.only to find it is was dream within a dream..or hows about telling friends when something happens that its ok, its only a dream!!! I used to do that a lot in dreams and was always wondering how you told dreaming and real life apart..LOL as I feel pain, taste emotions etc accutely in dreams. ( a shame I dont dream about darius much)

I also dream vivid dreams of historic stuff, when I am a man, a soldier, spy..aristocat..real plotted dreams like films.thats why I dont beleive in reincarnation either, as the brain is a master of imagination. As a child I learned how to confront monsters in nightmares to stop the nightmare ..it worked too, I once turned to a regular monster that chased me through school alleys as a child in nighmares and told it I was going to chase it for a change.I never had that nightmare again!

Dreams are fascinating, it is amazing what info we store away without knowing and rechurn it in dreams.

Yep! Be afraid, be very afraid. And yes, if we go into a pub, I'll have half a cider.

You're worse than me. I don't remember having night terrors as a child, nor have I ever sleep walked. I had a lot of dreams about not being able to open my eyes properly or squeeze through doors (a bit like Alice in Wonderland). It must be quite un-nerving and frightening, waking up finding yourself punching the wardrobe. Flying in dreams is supposed to be a good thing (probably why I never do).

I remember once having a nightmare about Blue Peter, though I can't remember what it was. I also had a dream once where I was given a knife and told to choose between slitting an animal's throat or my own. I also feel pain and emotions in dreams. I once had a thorny branch jabbed in my arm and the pain was agony. I cry, feel terrified and anxious.

In one dream, I was a knight brandishing a sword, going round chopping off people's arms and legs, watching the stumps bleeding. I'm often chased and attacked, especially by dogs or panthers with ferocious teeth and powerful jaws.

I search for toilets only to find one in the middle of a room without any doors or privacy.

I have lots of car crashes, train crashes, explosions, fires.

Sometimes I don't dream as such but have words or book jackets spinning round my head all night. Last night I was dreaming something about not wanting to work Saturdays. I can't remember much about it except there were lots of boxy type compartments with black seats.

I never ever dream of Darius and rarely wake up thinking "that was a pleasant dream" and sometimes I feel muzzy-headed as if I've worked really hard in my sleep.

My imagination definitely goes into overdrive when I sleep.

Meg, at least it's not a whisky.....mines a larger please :D

where is everyone

Meg, you could at least have left me a spot the difference :(

I'm sort of here and elsewhere, trying to catch up with myself but not succeeding.

Good news - after much hassle, anxiety, stress and finally making an appointment to see an employment solicitor I have finally received a letter telling me that when the library restructure takes place, they will offer me a suitable permanent job.

However, I'm not cancelling the appointment just yet.
