I've nearly fed everyone now. Just me to go. Mum's in the bath and Dad has just decided that his bed DOES need an hot water bottle in it - even though it's so hot all the windows and doors are open. My husband is just ignoring everything else and reading. Pam, get one like mine. He'd not even notice if the ceiling were falling in, never mind if I was talking to anyone.

Wish mine would shut up for five minutes

You 2 put a smile on my face...

Just returned from seeing Harry Potter....

I do wish I hadn't re-read the book before seeing the film, it was too fresh in my mind.

I realise they can't follow the book fully.

Several things were altered, lots missed.

I supose they had to find ways to get from one part of the book to the other with people being able to follow it.

Harry looked frightened through most of it when in the book he was angry for a lot of the time.

But over all it was a good film.

Next time I wont re-read the book till after I've seen the film and waiting for the DVD to come out.

Trying to get the half-blood prince finished again before the last book comes on the shelves.

Can't wait

I should re-read Half blood prince before next week but I don't know if I'll have time

Mmm I know...I could be reading now and this morning but.....here I am

Tomorrow and Sunday are going to be busy and I'm getting the second book to The Traveller by John Twelve Hawks tomorrow and I know I'm just going to want to read it.

I'll just have to stay away from anything to do with the new HP book till I've read them both.

I could be reading now but .....
I shouldn't be here but I am.
watching T in the Park and wishing Darius were there

Harry Potter - my daughters sit through the films muttering about what they've missed, what they've changed. They know the books too well. I've only read the books once yet I remember thinking what about Neville in hospital, wasn't that in this one. I thought perhaps I'd muddled it with another book but now I realise they missed it out.

I don't think they conveyed the emotions very well. As Hayley said it's because they had to state things that in the book were only thoughts or didn't need to be said.

My daughters thought it was a good film but not a great one but it didn't stop Hayley seeing it twice already.

I hope book 7 is good and gives answers, it will be such an anti-climax if it isn't. Will she kill Harry off, I wonder?

People seem to be thinking that way....I hope not it will be too sad

I feel very attached to young Harry...watching him grow up

...and haven't they all.

I caught some of the first film the other weekend....they were so young, I'd forgotten.

When Harry cried just after Sirius dies  ...that was excellent acting and effects...really got me

I liked the way they did Sirius' death, very clever and very sad when he died. I really felt for poor Harry. Good thing he has Mrs Weasley to mother him.

wierd isnt it, but none of my 4 kids like HP at all - and I read the first chapter of the Pheonix? the one with the dragn on the cover..and just found it boring.

we have two HP books sitting there that no one is interested in ..one has a flying car on the front? I thnk.

I hate reading a book then going to see a film..first happened way back when mary Poppins was made into a film..the imagination is so much better, as they couldnt capture what your mind does! or match up to your visualisation of the characters etc.

The dragon front, isn't it the goblet of fire?

That's really good once you get into it.

The things they have to do in the tournament are fascinating.

I do find some chapters a bit boring in all the books.

I always find that the endings are the most exciting but come and go too quick...leaves me wanting more....hence wanting the next book.

My friend got me into them, then she only read the first 2 possibly 3 and stopped!!

I suppose they aren't for everyone....the world would be boring if we all liked the same things.

Well, next week, I'll be reading HP again. Then I'll see this film. I try and diorce films from the book they're covering as I just waste the iewing complaining.
8 to go (well, 7 after this but I have to go now). Hopefully, we'll be over 12,000 when I come back.

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: 12,000 :yahoo: that was quick.....wonder how long it will take us to get to 13,000 :o
I've seen all the HP films and started to read a couple of the books but they just didn't grab my attention. Maybe it's that thing about your own vision. I can't do that because I see Daniel Radcliffe, Robbie Coltrane, Emma Watson etc instead.
