just on the movie mistakes site? wondering if anyone has any faves?

the random device has come up with An American Warewolf in Paris:

Plot hole: The Eiffel Tower is narrow at the top and gets wider on the way down, therefore any attempt to bungee jump from the top would result in massive injury or death from impacting the tower structure long before the ground was reached.

Continuity: When Andy places the wedding ring on Serafine's finger after jumping off the Statue of Liberty, he places it on the index finger. Don't people usually put a wedding ring on the ring finger?

Other: During the party in the church near the end the bad guy blocks the church door with a bulldozer. The girl climbs up to the top of the church, breaking off a stone gargoyle which lands on top of the bad guy while he's in the bulldozer. Then the girl climbs back down and gets into the bulldozer, which is completely undamaged from the gargoyle hitting it - the bad guy's body has completely vanished. She manages both climbs impossibly quickly.

Continuity: Much of this movie was shot in Luxembourg, not in Paris. This is obvious on several occasions - the road signs are clearly not like the French standard. You even see a sign to »Trier (Trèves)«. In Paris, there would be no signs to this German town...and even if there was, these would say »Trèves«. The buses also have French registration plates but are from Luxembourg companies.

Revealing: When Andy and Claude are fighting each other in the train, during several shots, you can see Claude wearing gray briefs.

Continuity: The boom microphone comes into the picture loads of times. It is most noticeable in an outdoor scene with the two main characters, during an emotional argument, the boom mike drops almost fully into the screen, complete with a gray fuzzy covering.

Plot hole: Near the end of the film, at the big party in the abandoned church, one of the main characters is tied to a crucifix. In the ensuing mayhem, we see the crucifix fall backward, with the guy on top of it, facing the ceiling. In the shot where the panicked partygoers are fleeing, we see this guy running out of the church, carrying the crucifix, which is still tied to his wrists. So, how did he get up? And if someone stopped to help him, which seems unlikely, given the general panic, wouldn't it have been easier to simply untie him? The alternative would have been to hoist the whole kit n' kaboodle upright, which, at the least, would have taken two people.

In Dawn Of The Dead the original version, when Rodger and Peter meet up with Fran and Steven they are in a Pittsburgh cop car, when they're no wear near Pittsburgh at that point in the story, it's just that they were filming in Pittsburgh.

Samething apparently happened in Die Hard

I like spotting the New York mountains whilst watching Jackie Chan

There was a programme about these kind of things a while ago.

Things like the cameramen being seen in mirrors.

Really stupid mistakes.

Ahh, yes, Bruce's miraculous colour-changing vest. For most of the film it's white, then it inexplicably turns a dirty grey.....

Not ecactly a great movie or great mistakes but The film Equalibrim (The one with the new Batman in), has tons of mistakes in it, and I could spot loads of them and i'm normally useless at finding mistakes in films / tv shows.

"Rumble In The Bronx", which was filmed in Hong Kong.....

the New York set was actually Vancouver, which is strange as it's mostly Toronto that doubles, well i suppose the major must have given a few more tax breaks along the way

I believe in some cultures the ring is placed on the index finger during the ceremony, as it is the most visible to the congregants, then transferred to the ring figer afterwards. Different countries use left or right hands too

Also the zombies are just people painted green

Well, green is the colour of decay, and they didnt have that much money to make the film either. Make up effects in the early 70s weren't really that terrific either. The zombies in "Night of the Living Dead" look a little more convincing because it was filmed in Black and white...

Blue/grey actually :P but some do have bits of there bodies missing. Still great film.

Still great film.

Exactly, a film which may have obvious budget constraints which show, but has a damn sight more ideas, creativity and a better plot than about 99% of so-called "blockbusters".....

Oh, the $200 million "Titanic", I mean, jeez, where do you even begin to list the errors, mistakes and fukk ups in that pile of sh!t......  Let's start with the so-called "cutting-edge" computer CGI effects that quite frankly look worse than a typical PS2 game.......

Of course I understand we have a lot more technology nowadays, but I saw the original not long after I saw the newer version and I found it funny.

I also found the acting better in the new version. ;)

The remake is just a dumb action movie with zombies, all the good ideas and Marxist anti-consumerist commentary of the original has disappeared. And the whole "hey, let's have them run really fast and slightly speed up the photography to make them look really freaky" idea is just ripped off from "28 Days Later". Unoriginal, but, yeah, competently enough acted....

I also found the acting better in the new version. ;)

That maybe so. But the original $h!ts on the remake from a very high hight in my opinion

While we're on horror movies... Kubrick fans apparently get into massive debates about the opening sequence of The Shining when helicopter blades are clearly visible at the top of the screen. It seems like a goof, but many people think it would be unthinkable for the meticulous, obsessive Kubrick to allow such a mistake. So they claim he left it there on purpose for some specific reason.

green is also the colour of a nice summer lawn, in hotdog it says the Carry on production team had to paint the grass in Carry on Camping with a few tins of emulsion as it was supposed to be the height of summer put it was filed in the middle of winter
