Arrested Snow Patrol star Tom Simpson made it to T In The Park tonight (July 8) as the band closed the festival in their spiritual Scottish home.

As reported earlier on NME.COM, the band's preparations were thrown into chaos after Simpson was arrested following their Live Earth show yesterday.

The star was apprehended as he prepared to board a flight at RAF Northolt in Middlesex. The band were on the way to the Oxegen Festival in Ireland.

Simpson missed the show after being taken to Uxbridge Police Station, but he was released in time to play tonight.

Despite being mostly Northern Irish, the band formed in nearby Dundee, and were playing the Main Stage headline slot after attracting huge crowds to the King Tuts tent when they last played at the event back in 2004.

Frontman Gary Lightbody had a pair of shoes thrown at him, and when he responded with "Anyone got a size ten?", the band were struck with a deluge.

Lightbody also paid tribute to Scottish crowds' habit of throwing beer at bands, and gave ashout out to Biffy Clyro, the local heroes who also played the festival today.

Snow Patrol opened their set with 'Hands Open', and featured the perennial festival classics 'Chasing Cars' and 'Run', with Top Ten single 'You're All I Have' closing proceedings and sending the huge crowd home happy.

Snow Patrol played:

'Hands Open'

'Chocolate'

'It's Beginning To Get To Me'

'Headlights On Dark Roads'

'Signal Fire'

'How To Be Dead'

'Grazed Knees'

'Spitting Games'

'Make This Go On Forever'

'Chasing Cars'

'Shut Your Eyes'

'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'

'Run'

'Finish Line'

'Open Your Eyes'

'You're All I Have'
