April 11, 200619 yr I think Shayne's biggest problem is that his manager and record label are firmly routed in the last century, when boybands reigned supreme and Cowell could make stars out of anyone who appeared on tv, from Robson & Greene to Zig & Zag. It's been a bad 18 months for solo male artists anyway, with a couple of exceptions. Indy bands are the in thing now, anyone with a finger on the music pulse, should be looking for the next big band, not going back in time and looking for the new Robbie Williams, George Michael or whoever It's not Shaynes fault and he's probably going to be quite successful this year, thanks to 3 months of the biggest tv promo available. But Cowell & Walsh should be looking for something fresh & innovative for him, not a rehash of 1999's Westlife material. There's is a tired old formula and they're making the mistake of thinking a nice voice, and good looks are going to cover the cracks.
April 11, 200619 yr I agree about That's My Goal, I thought it was alright, but No Promises is a LOT better, he showcases his vocals a lot better than on That's My Goal, and judging by the video they are pumping a lot of money into him, I really didn't expect such a classy video, I was expecting a McManus style second video. Still I guess it's all about the album now, I will be buying it, No Promises is one of my favourite songs this year, whatever people say about it being bland or it being $h!t or Shayne being talentless or whatever, it's a catchy song, and I do really like it, I am going to buy the single tomorrow and will be buying the album on Monday
April 11, 200619 yr it's a catchy song, and I do really like it, I am going to buy the single tomorrow and will be buying the album on Monday  Me too. I can't stop singing No Promises. Shayne's voice is really good on it and I never thought I'd ever hear myself saying that during X-factor.
April 11, 200619 yr Agree about the video, i also waited to see a video from x factoe, but he recorded a song and a video in only 2 days??? Maybe he knew the result and made the video before...
April 11, 200619 yr I despised his last single so much and I actually think this song is good, although Shayne is just another artist as far as i'm concerened as he is no different to other pop male artists and Louis and Simon are just there to cash in on him. I don't think his album will sell a million copies. Louis and Simon seem to think this will ebd up been one of the biggest sellers this year......it probably won't. Arctic Monkeys will be near the top and there are big album releases from artists like Christina and The Killers this year and thier proven artists already.

I'm not sure how much it will sell but I think it will definately be in the top5 albums of the year ;)
April 11, 200619 yr I'm not sure how much it will sell but I think it will definately be in the top5 albums of the year ;) I dunno. I expext it will be quite a big seller and will end up in the top 5, but there are some big bands / artists that will hopefully release their new material this year. I reckon RHCP's new album will defintley be a big seller alnog with Snow Patrol, Scissor Sisters, Christina's and Keane's new albums this year, and add Arcitc Monkeys to that list I think it will be ahdr for Shayne to top many of those artists.
April 11, 200619 yr yeah like Westlife, robbie williams, madonna, james blunt, coldplay, he can't beat them
April 11, 200619 yr I must say I love this  And my new fella said he wants to dedicate it to me and he looks really like him too  How desperate was that for attention for someone to ask about my personal life?!
April 12, 200619 yr The review on ITV Teletext page 147 is rather cruel. Earls gives it 1/2 out of 10 and says something like: "Promotion £480 million spent, song 28p spent...." Mind you he is very scathing about TV talent show winners anyway.

I can't see the second Scissor Sisters album doing anywhere near as well as the first, but we'll see I guess....
April 12, 200619 yr His website has signed up alot of its members to hand out flyers [promoting his album] when is he doing his big promotional push, i heard he is doing a free concert for 15000 fans in manchester town centre and an album signing, is that this weekend
April 12, 200619 yr ^ I heard about the concert thing on Paul O'Whatmajig's show, can't remember when it is though? Anywho, No Promises is quite jiggy, although nothing's gonna beat Chris Daughtry now, is it?! IS IT?! <_<
April 12, 200619 yr I think it is 19 April but I'm not sure. Avoid Manchester - parking will be horrendous - or not as the case may be!
April 12, 200619 yr That's all very well but if you never get them in the first place you don't know the sender's address! However, thanks for your explanation. I am going to check my addresses. That is done on Will's forums. :) Sorry, wasn't thinking  - the address they come from to me is musicinfo@sonybmg.com It's the same address for Will and Shayne ones. If you share them on the forums, you've probably got them but I've still got 4 Will ones (since beginning of March) in my inbox - I can forward them to anyone who think's they've missed out - just email me and I'll send them on :) The review on ITV Teletext page 147 is rather cruel. Earls gives it 1/2 out of 10 and says something like: "Promotion £480 million spent, song 28p spent...." Mind you he is very scathing about TV talent show winners anyway. I think that's half the problem, more so than the artist, or the song - it's all the positive hype versus the negative-hype surrounding these TV talent show artists - it's hard to try and escape from both sides of the arguments really and just judge for yourself whether you simply like something or not  Shayne seems to have far less spent on TV advertising, than Journey South and Andy Abraham - I saw loads of TV adverts for their releases, but I haven't seen one for Shayne's as yet myself? I like the song No Promises as I said before, but I prefer Crazy and so that would be the right #1 for me personally this week.
