Please get over to the Pop Forum and vote for Take That in the Best of the 90's 'pop' bands. Currently they have just one vote and that's from me. Spice Girls have 5 and that just ain't fair! At least the lads can sing!

Don't think anything's going to stop the spices though (yeuk) there's another four bands there apart from Take That that would wipe the floor with them. Do you think its just kids getting excited about dressing up in platform shoes and union jack dresses again. And that's just the boys!

Do you think they (SG's) have any real affection for each other or was it solely the lure of the minimum £10 million each they're going to make (probably more for Mrs Beckham). I know at that press conferences they deserved BAFTAs for their 'pally' performance. They just don't seem genuine to me whereas you can see that Take That really do like each other's company.

its hard to know i dont mind the spice girls at all but when take that split they didnt keep huge amounts of contact either its very hard to know what really goes on in either group.

i mean if u look at take that first time round it was we drink occasionally we dont smoke we dont do drugs now we know they all drink smoke like trains and have done drugs what they say we cant always believe an di mean that in all celebrities not just tt or s gs

Actually - Take That did keep in touch (at least Gary and Howard remained close friends in between the break up and the reunion) which is why certain parts of 'For The Record' don't actually ring true. If you read Gary's book - they had actually all met up before together with Nigel Martin Smith regarding the release of the Greatest Hits. Gary didn't want the reunion to take place at all - he was quite glad to be back behind the scenes, writing and didn't want to be in the spotlight again. He had later conversations with Jason that made him think again. If you've not read the book - you must - it is an absolute fantastic read. Gary is a brilliant writer (yes I know they all have ghostwriters these days) but a lot of the input is from diaries that Gary had kept and the guy has a fantastic memory. He also writes stuff that are absolutely cringe-worthingly, stomach-achingly funny - like his meeting with Dianne Warren and her parrot! Its is a fab book!

i must get that book as it sounds so interesting from what u say

Honestly - you won't regret getting the book. Gary Barlow actually says he was cringing as he was writing parts of it - but he had to be honest - including the humiliatingly bad bits as well as the glorious golden bits!

By the way - I just spotted this -

What do you make of it? If its true - it puts the IWFL thing firmly out of mind!
