I agree - what a wasted opportunity that whole album was... and quite why she released the underwhelming King of the Mountain will always be beyond me.... Sunset and Nocturn were the best tracks on the album, I think.... stunning.

I totally agree - the second CD is far better than the first & King Of the Mountain is one of the weakest tracks on the entire album, also the likes of Kate Bush fans Charlotte Church & Will Young could do a duet & cover "Somewhere In Between", murder it, but the song is so strong & commercial it would probably make #1.

i recognise dawn french (trying to be serious  ) and hugh laurie in the video Experiment IV

Very much agreed. King of the Mountain doesn't give the impression of the album at all. Rather a wasted release which may of put some off the Album.

There's a second best of due later this year, apparently... that's if EMI/Kate can be bothered....

King Of The Mountain I think has a certain Wuthering Heights feel to it, only not as good.

I agree, Somewhere In Between might have been a better choice of Single, along with Pi and Sunset.

I think King Of The Mountain and what might have been a second single, How To Be Invisable kind of reflect on fame and it's setbacks. So maybe more poigniant.

Lover Her!

My fave is Running Up That Hill

She's great.
I've always adored Wuthering Heights. Kate was a true beauty.

kate bush is so underrated.. I love her. She has a lot of good songs, and I do like "This Woman's Work" but "Running Up That Hill" will always be my favorite song, but "Wuthering Heights" and "Don't Give Up" are up there as well for me. Oh and that one duet she did was Prince was amazing too imo.

I played Aerial for the first time in ages yesterday - and I was surprised at how much I liked it again.

The 2nd disc will always be the one for me, though - it sounds absolutely amazing in the car, the production is amazing, the sound literally surrounds you.

I prefer the first disc of 'Aerial'. The second one took me a while to get into.

Haven't listened to that album in ages, actually.

I love the final 4 songs on Sky of Honey - Sunset, Somewhere Inbetween, Nocturn and the title track on disc 2.... there's no track I really love on disc one.

Those ones are nice. I like the first track (I think it is) from the second disc too.

"Pi" from disc one is genius.

Kate Bush announces new material

Singer records music for movie soundtrack

Kate Bush has recorded a new song for the movie 'The Golden Compass'.

The track 'Lyra' will be featured over the film's end credits and on the soundtrack.

The song will be available for download as part of the soundtrack from December 12.

The song is named after Lyra Belacqua, the lead character in 'The Golden Compass', and was written and produced by Bush in her own studio, and features Oxford's Magdalen College Choir.

Bush has previously had songs featured in the films 'Castaway' and 'She's Having a Baby', reports Yahoo.

The star's last album was 'Aeriel' in 2005.

The Golden Compass is based on Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy - it should be a fabulous movie.....
