Some "Black Butta" quotes from the press:

Music Boutique:

"Black Butta" is a grooving romp and recalls Tina Turner a la "Nutbush City Limits", a true gut bucket rock-n-soul track.

DigitalSpy:

the funked up gospel stylings of 'Black Butta', Knight's almost stripped down, somewhat basic yet hugely effective style really works on this album.

The Guardian:

Black Butta and Saviour are two of the best songs of Knight's career, full-throated funk with thunderous rhythm sections that find her in lascivious mood,

The Independent:

But there's compensation aplenty elsewhere, in tracks such as the impassioned funk strutter "Black Butta"

Real Buzz:

A personal favourite of mine is the stomping ‘Black Butta’, a track on which Beverley shows she can still keep her amazing tone, even though a faster-paced track.

The Times:

Ronnie Wood’s guitar appears occasionally, notably on the stomping Black Butta, but this is Knight’s show.

The Sun:

The great joy of Music City Soul is the way Beverley lets rip with songs like the belting Black Butta.

She says: “That’s a real foot-stomping number I co-wrote with Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams etc). Black Butta is basically saying I’m fabulous, fierce and sexiverous.”

It's not just me! ;)

I'm suprised they commented on Saviour but i agree its amazing

Manchester Evening News:

She does indeed sound ever more impressive with every outing. When the energetic Black Butta winds into frenetic action, it's difficult not to think of her as a Tina Turner for the new millennium.

One things for sure, when it comes to UK soul divas, Beverley is certainly showing Joss Stone how it should be done.

I think Saviour is poo -_- The album is one of two halves. An amazing first half and a disappointing second.
its quickly becoming my fave song on the album so i signed the petition
I think theres only 1 poo song on the album and 1 pooish

:funky: thats good

When is it someones given it Bevvie

I'll have to have a listen to the Tina Turner one
nutbsuh city limits is a legendary song! one of my faves of all time (defo one of the better 70's songs imo)
