Posted July 12, 200718 yr As well as Herge's Aventures of Tintin also in the works is a remake of Barbarella. So the big question is who should play Barbarella?? (well apart from Jessica Biel!! ). Who should be that 1960s space kitten??? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b2/BarbarellaPoster.jpg A remake of Barbarella is currently being planned. It will be penned by current James Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and produced by Dino and Martha De Laurentiis. It was recently announced that Sin City director Robert Rodriguez is slated to direct the remake for Universal Studios.
July 13, 200718 yr Jessica Biel couldn't possibly replace Jane Fonda mate..... :P Scarlett Johanssen might be a better choice... I really dont see the point in remaking "Barbarella"... It's a seriously stupid idea, "Barbarella" is very much a quintessentially 60s counter-culture film, it just wont work in the 00s... Look at the piece of sh!t that was the "Alfie" remake, and "The Italian Job".... You just cannot take these films out of their respective eras, these films are very specifically rooted in a certain time and place when a certain mood pervaded in society, and just cannot be taken out of their socio-political and historical contexts.... A "Barbarella" remake wont work any more than an "Alfie" or "Italian Job" remake did....
