Sorce: Music Week

There are no albums by British acts among the eight debuts this week, although Rod Stewart's stint as singing coach and guest croaker on American Idol earns the veteran a couple of strong re-entries on the Top 200.

His latest set, Thanks For The Memory - The Great American Songbook Volume IV enjoyed a 253% upturn in business, selling 14,582 copies to re-enter at number 58, while Stardust - The Great American Songbook Volume III sizzled to a 226% gain and a re-entry at number 113. Meanwhile, It Had To Be You - The Great American Songbook rockets 156-7 on the Top Catalogue Chart, with sales up 251% at 7,715, and As Time Goes By - The Great American Songbook Volume II re-enters the same list at number 16 with sales up 231% at 5,540.

On the Top 200, James Blunt remains the top British attraction. Last week, his Back To Bedlam album's sales were up 29% week-on-week but tough competition meant it slipped 7-10. It rebounds to number seven this week, while losing 35% of its sales. 53,783 buyers last week take its cumulative total to 1,529,634.

Blunt's single, You're Beautiful, retreats 7-8 on the Hot 100, its gentle decline due to falling download sales. It attracted 39,250 downloads last week, falling 10-12 on the Digital Tracks list, while taking its overall sales to an impressive 1,378,732. It's now the fourth most downloaded track in history, behind KanYe West's Gold Digger, Gwen Stefani's Hollaback Girl and My Humps by Black Eyed Peas.

Providing Blunt with his nearest British companion on the album chart, and remaining ahead of him on the singles list is Natasha Bedingfield.

Bedingfield falls 42-48 on the album chart with Unwritten, which sold 17,510 copies last week, to take its cumulative total to 491,394, while the single of the same name holds at five on the Hot 100, and falls 7--9 on the Digital Tracks chart, with 46,187 downloads last week lifting its overall sales to 947,103. Canadian Daniel Powter continues to top the download and Hot 100 lists with Bad Day.

Nice one Mikey - good to see someone other than me taking interest in the US charts.
You're beautiful still in the charts? It's because I covered it maybe...
