Thank You To EVERYBODY!

February 21, 2010

WOW! What a weekend, and what a 6 weeks it has been! I don’t know where to start really. It feels amazing to be the winner and I am so happy. I did my bit but I just could not have done this without all of you and your continued support. I thank every single one of you for picking up the phone. Sometimes the show was stressful, I was anxious every week from Monday until Friday 10pm, a lot of the time it was very physically and mentally emotional but I have had the time of my life and it was ALWAYS fun and rewarding!

Thank you everyone SO MUCH for voting for me over the past 6 weeks, it has been amazing, and you will hear more from me very soon so keep posted, follow me on twitter and facebook to keep up to date with all my TV appearances and maybe even more in the next few months!

I'm hoping that meant weeks or, preferably, days

edited to add that this was posted on his official site.

Did Blake sing this on songs of praise? I think I want an album of Darius singing EVERYTHING tbh, really needling me now that its been so long since we saw or heard him in his own right, excluding PSTOOPS

If D and Blake combined to release a single, I feel it would most likely hit the top spot, with Blake's popularity and D's current exposure from PSTOS. I don't have enough knowledge of this type of music to make suggestions, but I know you guys will, so what do you think would be good?

Obviously. this is all just speculation, but it's fun all the same :)

I'd like to hear his new stuff before I decide that, Paul. In fact, I'd love to hear his new stuff anyway.
OMG so wouldi too Meg  !..............................and by the sounds of it, we will be VERY SION INDEED!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo:

I'd certainly like to hear his new stuff too Meg, but if he was able to do this quickly, it could hit top spot and would also alert people to the fact that he's got a new album out, leading to increased sales IMO.

The Impossible Dream with Darius and Stephen counter singing and harmonising with the three tenors in Blake?

How Great Thou Art

Can I say "Stars"................ again...............Stephen and Darius duetting with the tenors doing their backing vocals.

That would be satisfying - the baritones getting the lead for once.

I think that's half the problem, the public are so used to tenors, including me, that they find it harder to relate to baritones

And there was me thinking you were a soprano...........................

OK

Sigh!

I am a total non singer. I just don't sing but I do doubt I'm a baritone.

I think over the six weeks people got more used to hearing Darius singing a good bit lower than their favourite crossover singer(s).

The more often he and other (bass) baritones are given prime time slots or guest slots in prestigious concerts , the public's ears may start to re-attune.

Even in the duet, I found the beginning just too low for his voice. After that though, it was slightly higher and his voice was fantastic. I don't think bass is for him.

As I said , I believe Rolando did that to show that Darius can sing at that really low level, rather than just hit one note and hold it as he'd done previously in the show. That he could take on Non-Mozart arias.

Few songs would ever require it but some might. Old Man River, Some of Johnny Cash's maybe.

I think he's got more work to do to sing that low well. No doubt he will make the effort if he needs to.
