October 4, 200816 yr Author thank god she wasnt picked over darius - that would have been odd though, as she didnt get as many votes as D, so he would have been the rightful replacement! I found SW instantly forgettable, her songs were very cliche and nothing inspiring at all.
October 4, 200816 yr Thanks for your answers Meg and BT - I am so glad that D was the rightful replacement! I was starting to feel a bit resentful that Sarah was casually dropping a remark into her interview to make it seem that she should have been in the final 10 instead of Darius!! I always thought that D officially had the next highest number of votes and I am glad that was the case I wish Sarah luck with her future music career - I don't think her single made much impact, maybe her album will do better. Maybe she will release the same week as Darius!!!!! Julie
October 5, 200816 yr That girl Haifa who was in the song for Europe a few years ago also made it seem as if she was lined up to be the replacement for Rik, when he went down with the throat infection. I don't remember if she was even in Sarah's and Rik's group. The rules were clear - if any finalist dropped out, he/she would be replaced by the person who came nearest them in their own group. I also seem to remember that Darius was told by Nigel Lythgoe that he had the highest number of recorded votes out of all the remaining non-finalists and was first in line by any acount and that was what swayed him to agree to replace Rik if he was unable to take part in the final nine ( Christmas) show.
May 26, 200916 yr Great news to know that Darius did get into the studio with the Misfits and to hear the word "finishing" rather than "writing" being applied to the long awaited album. I'm so relieved to know that Darius hasn't put his music on the backburner. I was terrified he'd get caught up in acting because he's so talented. I hope he doesn't play his cards too close to his chest and we'll get more news about what's going on behind the scenes. I can wait now.
May 26, 200916 yr Well, he did say May and it's just that it's 12 months later. Still, it was worth the wait to see him in GWTW
May 26, 200916 yr I agree. Too bad the critics didn't like the show as much as Darius. Then again, if they had, we'd be waiting now for Darius to finish his stint on Broadway, instead of anticipating new music.
May 26, 200916 yr Which I could have lived with - even if I couldn't have got there to see him. The USA really missed out there.
May 27, 200916 yr Ditto what Meg says. However I cant understand why if it causes problems with him commuting for work (and again I cant see why that does as many others have partners and their career doesnt suffer) he doesnt do some work over there aka cat deeley, melB etc etc or has the block raised itself there.
May 27, 200916 yr OMG thats Great news about the album !!..............God i SO cant wait for its release!!! :yahoo:
May 27, 200916 yr I have posted about this subject on the Interchange thread (I wanted to quote Delphi, and didn't know how to bring the quote over to this thread).
May 27, 200916 yr Well, he did say May and it's just that it's 12 months later. Still, it was worth the wait to see him in GWTW It's May in Darius time! We should know by now. ;) Sue
May 27, 200916 yr I suppose his watch doesn't have the year on it. It's something to look forward to.
