That'll be the Scots. Don't know why, but Ocean Colour Scene are absolutely massive up here.

Yeah...cos we only listen to Scottish music up here ;)

Can't wait for the next Bay City Rollers reunion tour...

Good question, I'm going for History but it could easily have been BSS, Lucky Man or Sonnet.

On Your Own is stunning...but it has to be Drugs Don't Work....
Lucky Man, with BSS a close second.
The Drugs Don't Work  my mate's parents used to listen to it all the time when I was about five or six, so whenever I hear it now it brings back memories.

the only song i know by them is bitter sweet symphany.

but i like richard ashcroft--music is the power

Agreed, and did you notice that all the sheep went flocking to them when they were producing their most average, commercial and boring music....? "Bittersweet Symphony" is the worst, people only got into it cos it sampled The Stones.... Bad show from Ashcroft and Co, they were so original and compelling before they got fukkin' lazy.... <_<

:jump: - well it's the closest thing I could find to a sheep

- I like Urban Hymns - Bittersweet Symphony is one of my favourite Verve songs, I didn't even know it sampled the Stones - so that's not my reason for liking it anyway :P I really like Sonnet as well - but my absolute favourite is The Drugs Don't Work

i dont think it was actually the stones. it's a stones tune but i think i read that it was knicked from an old easy listening orchestra record probably found at a car boot sale or in a chartity shop

think it was mick n keef that got pissed off with the verve was some old bloke who owned their recordings from the early 1960s

I love a bit of The Verve.. for me it was between Drugs Dont Work, Bittersweet Symphony, Lucky Man and Sonnet...

In the end I chose Bittersweet Symphony for that riff alone. Instantly recognisable, even if you're not familiar with the band ^_^

They're the 4 that I only knew, but I picked up the Greatest Hits for a couple of quid a few months ago and there is a definately some other good ones, On Your Own, Blue and All In The Mind for example

Yeah, ive got the Greatest Hits as well.. wasn't too impressed, tbh, but there were a few ones which were alright. I love 'This Could Be My Moment'.. shame it wasn't released as a single ^_^

Yeah, a few of them are quite samey

I sort of over-looked This Could Be My Moment and just stuck to the main 4 which is a bit pointless, they didn't seem to do many upbeat songs apart from that and a couple of others though

Also, I don't even think Sonnet was released as a single, it's down as just charting on imports

Hmm.. I know one of the four was chart inelligible (sp?) because it featured too many tracks for a single, or something. It might have been Lucky Man, not sure

But the main 4 are definately the highlights of the album ^_^
