August 6, 200717 yr Author It was something to do with wikipaedia's definition of a singer/songwriter. As far as I could see he ticked all the boxes.
August 6, 200717 yr But he's called Darius Danesh - that's enough to prevent it - in some people's eyes.
August 6, 200717 yr we don't need him in a singer/song writer forum.......we have our own for him :D far more important!! ...can't be greedy :naughty: Edited August 6, 200717 yr by SpamFritter
August 7, 200717 yr Author we don't need him in a singer/song writer forum.......we have our own for him :D far more important!! ...can't be greedy :naughty: What I was trying to say is OFs are better than general categorisations which sometimes work, not according to what people actually are, but according to the preconceptions and prejudices of those who have the power to exclude. So anyone who wants an OF should keep requesting one until it is granted. The singer/songwriter forum was so exclusive it had to be widened to Culture, which is where Darius should be if all OFs were closed tomorrow. Darius has sung opera at the Royal Opera House, performed in musical theatre in the West End, Shakespeare at the Edinburgh Festival. Written and recorded jazz, pop and rock songs and headlined at an MTV Award ceremony abroad. As a DJ, he's taken over radio stations' flagship programmes and as a presenter he's done several TV shows on terrestial and digital TV, including a 5 hour live show with links to several OBs around the UK and pre-recorded video slots, with a live audience watching and without the benefit of an autocue, a serious challenge for experienced presenters. He's even MCed Sports Award showsand I can't forget the often sought after cameo role in a popular TV soap. Forgot the Latin American and contemporary dancing in public. Oh and he actually wrote his own book. No-one ghost wrote that. That's a fair range of 'culture' both high and low-brow, but he could be excluded on a single person's say so because they don't know what he's done and won't bother to check. That isn't right. At the moment we do have our own OF................. but the rumblings are all around about there being too many. If they stopped the stupid league, probably nobody would bother to find out how many OFs there were nor care much if they did.
August 7, 200717 yr It's down to not likeing a precnception of Darius and letting that stop you properly evaluating his work. Still, we know how good he is.
August 7, 200717 yr BT I know...you're preaching to the converted I'm as frustrated as you about Darius not being accepted elsewhere.... Considering we are 3rd in views and always towards the top there is no way we could be closed.... However, if it is....with a lot of others....then we would start up else where here....I'm not leaving nor will my support for Darius go ...have a little faith....slowly, slowly....:)
August 8, 200717 yr oh I believe....I do.....I definitely believe http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/1PamP/smilies/1125971-M.gif
