Keith,

Christina Aguilera is one of my favorite artists. I was wondering if you can help me find out why she has not released any other singles off her latest album "Back to Basics." I was surprised that she only released three singles off the album, especially because it is a two-disc album.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Gabe,

RCA Records, Christina Aguilera's record label, didn't elaborate as to why there will be no further singles promoted to radio in the U.S. from "Back to Basics." Perhaps it has something to with the lackluster performance of the set's second and third singles? While the album's lead track, "Ain't No Other Man," reached No. 6 on The Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 on the CHR/Top 40 radio airplay chart, the follow-ups didn't do as well.

"Hurt," a ballad, peaked at No. 19 on the Hot 100 and No. 25 on the CHR/Top 40 chart. The uptempo throwback "Candyman" stopped at No. 25 on the Hot 100 and No. 23 on CHR/Top 40.

"Back to Basics" has sold 1.6 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her previous effort, 2002's "Stripped," has shifted 4.1 million.

Thats daft, and it's not going to sell much more if they don't release anything else of it, besides, the singles did well here, the album was number one, ANOM was number 2 and Candyman would have been top 5 if they had bothered to release a physical copy of it <_<
From what is being said on other forums, gossip sites and stuff, Slow Down Baby is getting only the one release, thats as a non-video single in Australia and New Zealand :( And no other singles will be released in Europe or the US. I cant see Oh Mother getting a release tbh because they would have to film the vid like NOW.

Really strange!! :( The album has quite a few potential singles, I don't understand why their not trying to promote the album for more sales by releasing some of the better tracks from the album!! Another case of bad management and direction from the record company!

Well I've never expected this album to do well in the first place. I'm glad ANOM has done so well; still my favourite track

I just hate when just because an album/single doesn't do well on charts, it stops being promoted. I mean, I have loved so many albums by different artists, that didn't chart well. Because of that, they didnt' get any attention which is ashame. Lindsay's "A Little More Personal" is an example of that for me. But I guess that's the way the biz works.

So there'll be no more releases off the B2B album over here too? :(
