July 22, 200717 yr I personally prefer listening to The Smiths over The Cute. Like you say though - two really great bands.
July 22, 200717 yr Voted both. I can't compare The Smiths vs The Cure, as I like both bands music wise :)
July 22, 200717 yr i never 'got' the cure, they just didnt appeal to old mushys tastes so deffo the smiths who are regarded as better anyway :)

July 24, 200717 yr If the Cure had stopped making records after Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. It would have been The Cure. :D
July 25, 200717 yr If the Cure had stopped making records after Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. It would have been The Cure. :D That's pretty much nonsense really mate, "Disintegration" is a frankly astounding record, miles better than "Kiss Me....", which has a bit too much filler on it for my liking, would've worked much better as a single album rather than a double IMO... "Wish" was okay, but "Wild Mood Swings" was kinda bollocks it has to be said.... "Bloodflowers" was a great return to form and the self titled 2004 album is also pretty damn good... Early indications say that the upcoming album is also a good 'un... So, really to say that they should have stopped in '87 is a bit bogus tbh....
July 27, 200717 yr As several others have said, I like both, but, I like The Smiths that >.< much more...
July 27, 200717 yr If the Cure had stopped making records after Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me. It would have been The Cure. :D I agree, although some of Disintegration was great.... some of it. The Cure, to this day, seem totally unable to make a great album. The Head On The Door is probably the most accessible, but even that has some ropey stuff on there. The best Cure album really is a singles compilation, I think  These days, though, The Cure are just embarrassing. Give it up guys. The answer to this poll? The Smiths - by a hundred miles.
