Posted July 23, 200718 yr LA Robbie's galaxy of stars thesun.co.uk July 23, 2007 ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ next album will be star-studded. He plans collaborations with current prince of pop JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. Supergroup FREEBASS — SMITHS’ bassist ANDY ROURKE, NEW ORDER’s PETER HOOK and STONE ROSES legend MANI — have also been approached. Other names linked with the project include MARK RONSON, WILLIAM ORBIT and SOUL MEKANIK. And I told you in May that Rob and Angels co-writer GUY CHAMBERS have put their arguments aside to work together again. Rob was at London’s Soho Hotel last week on a flying visit from LA for talks about the album. A source said: “He wants to work with the best from different genres to create a great album.”
July 23, 200718 yr Author How true this is I don't know. It's probebly just Vicky making up stuff as usual. We all know he and Guy are working togather, same goes for Soul Mekanik & Mark Ronson, but the rumours of the Freebass collaberation was just something that was mentioned in an interview with Andy Rourke, and seemed to be for their album and not his so she is way off there. And Justin Timberlake? Oh please  What next Timberland? Come up with something a tad more creative next time Vicky -_- I would'nt mind an album with a few duets though, it seems you can't have a bloody hit anymore these days unless it's 'featuring' someone.
July 23, 200718 yr Justin Timberlake  first he wants to ruin Coldplay in a duet and now Robbie :(
July 23, 200718 yr I would'nt mind an album with a few duets though, it seems you can't have a bloody hit anymore these days unless it's 'featuring' someone. Totally true. Justin... Ow... Robbie, Madonna also can sing. :P And there are so many better options for a duet. I'd like one or few on new album.
July 23, 200718 yr Well, collaboration doesn't have to be a duet. Anyway, I don't think it's that unlikely, Rob has always talked quite highly of JT. Besides, maybe that's how he tries to get the younger people on board, the download generation. We have already discussed how Rob's chart struggles began when download regulations were introduced. His fan base just isn't the downloading type I must say even if the whole article is rubbish, it was good reading about a new album, got me excited :yahoo:
July 23, 200718 yr Sounds good to me   , I'll save my opinions for if and when I hear it. A new Robbie album, something to look forward to

I am still very suprised Madonna is doing it, but it virtually guarentees a US hit where she has'nt been hugely successful for some time. -_- I would'nt mind one track with Justin if I knew it would be a great song, and not just pure over-produced, computerized noise like so many of his songs have been lately. It does sound exciting though, but then where does Swing fit into all of this? So many questions.
July 23, 200718 yr I just cannot see TJ & RW doing a duet.....why would they & what benefit would it be to either of them..... I see Shayne Ward doing a JT on Saturday night on RTE...I can see him getting lost somewhere along the line...the track is too JT for my taste ...even though I do like JT , but I think Shayne needs to be original....you can see the Loius Walsh influence. I still cannot get my mind around the JT /RW combo...maybe it will happen.,.....but I have my doubts...... I think RW is way better than JT at doing his own thing & does not need JT......it's probably VN with her shades on again & an overactive imagination......

It would benefit them both because it would be a massive hit, and JT seems to love doing duets  Yeah, I always said Shayne Ward should do a JT type of act, because before he was like a one man Westlife, truely sickening and just something typcal of Louis bloody Walsh, bland ballads. He was always far too young to do that, so I am glad he is doing dance moves etc, he has a good voice and I hope he does well, and starts writing his own songs (well if he can obviously). But then JT does'nt have an ounce of originality in his body. He has ripped off so many different artists with his two albums, and it seems clear Timbaland is the man behind the hits, as the songs he does with other acts always tend to have the same sound as those he does with JT. Usher is a billion times more talentled in all fields when it comes to trying to be a modern day MJ. -_-
July 23, 200718 yr :o New Robbie album???? :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I started to feel the same way about Nelly Furtado...after a while all hers souns the same as well with just different beats thrown in here & there...& shankin your ass...... I do not want RW to end up sounding like those guys as I like his original sound....I am beginning to tire of that sound where the producers are making every artist sound the same....RW does his own thing & I hope he stays well away from that crowd.... Louis Walsh is well on his way to F*****G up Shayne Wards career...what this JT type dancing...Ok maybe the kids will like it seen as that Shayne is a nice looking guy but he is a nice singer with great charisma & I think that he deserves more. Robbie...If you are reading this ...please continue to do your own thing & not sell your soul to the devil man...... ^_^ Edited July 23, 200718 yr by TessaT
July 23, 200718 yr Author Yep, the reason why JT and Nelly songs begind to sound similar, is because they are produced by the man of the moment, Timbaland. I agree. JT and Rob are just opposites when it comes to music, I just can't imagine it, nor do I want to. Is JT Helping Robbie? Sky News via TRWS 23/07/07 http://static.sky.com/images/pictures/1499559.jpg When you're in need of something, in the music hood, who you gonna call? Um, Trousersnake? And a whole host of other names if you feel the need. The Sun reports that the likes of Justin Timberlake, The Smiths' Andy Rourke, and Mark Ronson may be lending Robbie Williams a musical helping hand on his next album. http://static.sky.com/images/pictures/1556052.jpg Robbie Williams Some other v important muso names, such as Mani of the Stone Roses and Primal Scream, and Peter Hook from New Order, have been mentioned too. The paper says Rob jetted into London from his new base, the US of A, to discuss the album. They say a source said: "He (Robbie) wants to work with the best from different genres to create a great album." The words "Robbie" and "great" seem to belong together, so our musical ears are offiicially on high alert.

Timbaland may be the man of the moment & Ok a certain amount of it is ok ...but take away the sexy videos & moves etc & what have you got....Do not get me wrong ...I used to like it but in the last few months I have tired of it....can Timbaland not do anything different...I am beginning to think not & I am glad in a way that he never got back to RW...... I do not like it full stop when the producers have too much of a say or influence on what the artist puts out & I fear with Timbaland that it has to be done his way ...I definately do not want RW to end up sounding like JT & others that Timbaland worked with. I like the work that RW did with Jerry Meehan & Brandon Christy & Craig Russo on Rudebox ...I think it is very original & I love the sound...I like Robbie doing something different but keeping his originality for God's sake...that what makes him the artist that he is...he is different.....I hope he stays that way & that these stories are all hype .....Robbie has nothing whatsoever to prove ...he is by far one of the most talented artists out there & eveyone knows that....that is precisely why the press attack him all the time.....they hate to see anyone being so succesful.... Well done Rob...hang in there & continue doing your own thing... Edited July 24, 200718 yr by TessaT
July 24, 200718 yr Even Duran Duran is using Timberlake/Timberland on their new album = SELL OUT!!!!!! Not that I dislike Justin...I really like him as a matter of fact. But Robbie doesn't need Justin...I pray this isn't true.
July 24, 200718 yr I really think that VN totally made that story up...she took bits from various pieces of websites & other sources & hashed it together to come up with a stroy...it must have been a very slow news day................while bits & pieces of it may be true , it's not an original article...I have read most of it elsewhere before.... July 26, 200717 yr Author What???? ;) Is it April Fools again already???  Nope, just Vicky and her wild imagination probebly.
July 26, 200717 yr Hmmm.... Me thinks that it'll be something where Justin will just give Backing Vocals or something, not a major big duet (as something like that with Justin would HAVE to be releaed in America probally by his lable, and that wouldnt work out. :P )
