Here's some songs that Nelly likes ^_^

1. "Sozinho" by Caetano Veloso.

This song is magically poetic, penned by Peninha. Caetano makes it his own.

2. "Let's make love and listen death from above" by CSS, or "Cansei Do Ser Sexy".

This song chronicles the joy of making love while listening to one of my favorite, (now defunct) bands... Death from above... These brazilian punky kids sure know how to spend their spare time

3. Pedro Αbrunhosa - "Tudo o que eu te dou"

This song is a love song in portuguese that sounds like an intimate letter...sung in a plaintive and interrogating fashion. One of my faves ever!!

4. Juanes - "Ama me".

This song is very musically original.. It has a unique energy..unique chord arrangement.. A playful time signature..it cleanses the ear canals..

5. Bajofondo Tango Club - "Baldozas Mojadas".

Ok, I sing on this one... But the reason I like it is because the lyrics, written by Gustavo Santaolalla, are haunting and simple.

6. Tracy Chapman - "Sorry".

I heard this on the radio the other day. It has soul in spades, and listening to it is like holding a really good pint of beer in your hand, and waiting to take another sip.

7. Madonna "Live To Tell".

This is her best song ever. And her voice sounds silken. Who produced this joint?

8. Erykah Badu - "Green Eyes".

This song is charming and heartbreaking at the same time like replacing antique chipped dishes with new ones.

9. Bonnie Raitt - "I Can't Make You Love Me (If You Don't)".

Hello... Act like you know.

10. Cornershop - "Norwegian Wood".

Τhis cover reminds the Beatles where they got their incense from. Uncanny.

11. M.I.A. - "Hombre".

This girl writes songs as chic and effortless as the notes u used to pass in class, but the vocal orchestras she hears in her head are totally post secondary.

12. Timbaland - "Boardmeeting".

Timbaland sings about getting fresh... A lot... Here is my fave song about Timbaland getting fresh.

13. Paolo Nutini - "Lay Down Beside Me".

This is instantly soulful...

14. Paolo Nutini - "Rewind".

His voice is rich and full and his delivery is humble and simple. If he was older than twenty, I would find him cute.

15. Fritz Helder and The Phantoms - "Lagerfeld Lady".

Lagerfeld lady? What the ?!! Exactly.

16. Fritz Helder and The Phantoms - "Punch Me in The Neck".

This is my friend's band. You will know them... They make choreography and catch phrases for all hipsters to mimic.

17. K'Naan - "In The Beginning".

Let K'Naan open you up to a deepness you long for but never knew really existed. Go see this man's show.

18. Nelly Furtado featuring Missy Elliott - "Do It".

This is like chewing bubblegum, but it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth.

19. Tiziano Ferro - "Rafaella Baila En Mi Casa".

This is fun to jump around in the kitchen to while making soup. Yes I can get real corny sometimes.

20. Dora The Explorer - "Conga".

Dora re-invigorates this classic. Diego makes a quick cameo... Some shout outs.

She likes CSS too!

I heard about them ages ago- now they've become quite well known in the UK.

They're quite cool- Brazilian band!

Their name means:

Got tired of being sexy!

Nice to know she's still listening to Caetano Veloso.. It gives me hope for her Spanish/Portuguese album.
