Crowded House were one of the progenitors of Indie rock, and I'm totally diggin their new album. Never thought they'd be back after Paul Hester offed himself. Glad they rebounded as well as they have.

the Atlantic Ocean is so wide where indie is concern innit?????

I'm seeing the House at Wembley Arena on December 9th.

Their gig at the Hammersmith Odean in 1993 was the best gig I've ever seen in my life.

Anyway, a great excuse to post a resume of Neil Finn's career (surely New Zealands greatest contributor to Rock'n'Roll) in 10 video steps:

1. Split Enz - I Got You (1980)

2. Split Enz - History Never Repeats (1981)

3. Split Enz - Message To My Girl (1984)

4. Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over (1987)

5. Crowded House - Weather With You (1992 (Live 1993))

7. Crowded House - Distant Sun (1993)

8. Neil Finn - She Will Have Her Way (1998 Live 2000)

9. Finn Brothers - Won't Give In (2004)

... and finishing with Neil Finn's best known song down under (Personally I think it is a far more poignant funeral song (for loved ones far away) than Robbie Williams - Angels.....

10. Crowded House - Better Be Home Soon (1988 - Neil Finn live 2005)

Yes, it is, so I'll clarify. Early 90s, jangly, literate, rhythm-heavy indie rock (read: Pavement, Archers of Loaf, etc.), which led to their more general influence on similar music today.
