I'm going to walk the dog now. I should have been doing it instead of being here.

going out with my daughter....just had to pop on incase I'd missed anything

and I see there are no announcements :(

I'm just glad to grab a short while on here. I'm shattered. If that's what it takes to vlear a house then i don't think I'll ever flit unless I can afford those mythical Pickford men who allegedly came in and did all the packing and removal and the houseowner didn't have to turn a hand..

It would be a nightmare to try and clear this one. It was bad enough before Dave's Dad moved all his stuff in here. We now have piled up furniture.

It's not furniture that's my problem in the main. I find that all the empty storage I had is now stuffed full of other people's stuff mainly CDs, books, toys and games, electronic equipment, gardening equipment, and I've even got three guitars up in my loft now.

There are only four pieces of furniture which I'd like to be rid of but are totems for the rest of the family - a large chest of drawers, a huge double wardrobe which is now just a cupboard and full of other people's stuff, a huge sideboard with mirrored overmantel and a piano I can't play and which hasn't been tuned in years. If I ever moved they'd either need to stay or be broken up because they're solid wood and extremely heavy.

It does sound like this place. We can't even use the furniture as it just has to be piled in. We now have 2 armchairs sitting on each other - so obviousoy, we can't sit on them.

What should I be doing? For the first time in ages, nothing that I know of..... yet!

You don't know how good it is to say that.

Good idea. In fact I think I'll be selfish and take time to give myself a good old pamper today.

I'm waiting for Dad to finish his lunch. It would be so much easier and quicker to feed him but it wouldn't be fair to take another bit of independance away from him. Then I'm going to try, again, to get his hair cut. I could do it but, he wants a barber and when I get him there, he sometimes wont go in. It's all fun. I've got to get him in the car first and that's a problem in itself now. Even worse with Dave being away.
Independence or the illusion of independence is so very important to all human beings. It is so hard to watch them struggle and some times others can think carers are being unkind by not stepping in. Those who haven't been there and done it just don't understand the diplomacy involved every day.
