Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall [ 5 ] [35.71%]

Donna Summer - I Feel Love [ 9 ] [64.29%]

So Ms Summer triumphs over the 70s progsters.

This time it's a repeat of the disco-punk wars from the Summer of 77.

Who gets your vote - Disco or Punk?

Sneaky soundclash this one. 'I Feel Love' is probably the ONLY disco song which beats the Pistols. If it were a genre v genre thing then it'd be a clear, clear win for punk!

Yeah probably but that ain't the case. I wonder what would have happened if I had put up Anarchy in the UK instead.

God Save The Quen was probably the naffest Sex Pistols single..... so it's an easy choice..... I Feel Love.

What's naff about it...? A brilliant song, and totally necessary seeing as how everyone was going around kissing the Royal Family's collective arse in '77 (the 25th Jubilee Year), a bit of well-directed, anti-authoritarian spite was totally needed.... And the proof that it was deliberately kept OFF the No 1 Slot at the time is incontrovertible.....

Donna Summer...? Didn't she go around making all those anti-gay comments a while back...? Talk about biting the hand that feeds....

I'll never think of I Feel Love as a Donna Summer record - it belongs to Giorgio Moroder... who, practically single-handedly, invented electronica as we know it. And she's a Christian, bless her.... what more can you expect?

Love the Pistols, and the sentiment was there - but God Save The Queen is still my least favourite of all their singles.... all attitude, no song.

Oh yeah, I still voted for I Feel Love and I think it would edge out Anarchy too (which I prefer to GSTQ).

Like russt68 I agree that I Feel Love is a Moroder song, Donna Summer just happened to sing it...the backing is so much more than the vocal. Summer's views in this case aren't really relevant.

I totally agree. I can't think of another Donna Summer song I like off the top of my head.

Guess I was never that much of a disco fan. At the time I was only 8 and all I liked was Abba and Queen.

Summer's views in this case aren't really relevant.

They kind of are mate, she's a fukkin' hypocrite, and the absolute worst kind if you ask me.... She made money out of cultivating a large gay following, was part of a musical scene that was inexorably tied to the Gay Community, and isn't Georgio Moroder himself gay....?

It's a bit like Johnny Lydon accepting a fukkin' Knighthood or an MBE mate..... <_<

Dunno how you as a gay man can possibly have any truck with the likes of Donna Summer....
