Posted July 28, 200717 yr Just a tiny snippet in the Scottish edition. It was part of an article entitled Scotland's Ex-Factor and was just a where are they now type thing about people who'd been on reality shows. Each person's picture had a one word caption and his/her name. D's was simple - Star:Darius Danesh The little piece about him was almost accurate and totally positive. I only read the paper so I'll have to try and remember. Darius Danesh first appeared on TV on Popstars and one year later the doctors' son from Bearsden came a credible 3rd in Pop Idol. His first single Colourblind went to number one in July 2002 and this was followed by 5 top ten singles and a platinum album. In most recent times he earned rave reviews for his performances in the West End. Now 26, he is working on his 3rd album and splits his time between LA and London. I think that's it. July 29, 200717 yr Thanks Baytree. At the moment I have radio 2 on, its 5 am. They are doing the year 2002. So far they have played One true voice, girls aloud ., enrique and others, mentioned hearsay but so far not a mention.
July 29, 200717 yr Darius gets a mention in a thread on WOS regarding kelly osborne in chicago. quote -lol Sebastian..... since when has that ever concerned the producers of Chicago?! Ah yeas the RADA training of Duncan James, Brenda Edwards, Darius Danesh, Tina Arena, etc.. No comment on the individual performers I've just mentioned, just making the point that they do go for the 'name casting' not the experience/expertise.
July 29, 200717 yr Author His picture was lost among all the others but D's write up headed the article. The picture looked like a crop of the one of Darius and Natasha, on which he had heavy stubble almost like a light beard.

Darius made a good fist of BF on his very first night. I'm not that sure that a RADA trained person could have waited 6 years without performing, rehearsed for 15 days as BF and done much better than Darius did that night.
July 29, 200717 yr WEll, he certainly dd well and all the RADA courses just can't give charisma if it isn't there. Being a famous name doesn't mean they can act either. They were just dead lucky with Darius. I'm glad the papers are just befinning to realise he has talent. We cold have told them years ago. At least it shows honest reporting for some that the write ups have change and, I appreciate that. I hope he got played on rdio 2. I was sound asleep at that time.
July 29, 200717 yr thanks, did they play or mention Darius on Radio 2. I seem to think he had some record out around then...
July 29, 200717 yr The people on whatsonstage are all tunnel visoned regarding RADA etc. Dont suppose they have even seen an amateur production from which they would learn a lot, one thing being that some of the amateurs are far more talented that a lot in the westend.
July 29, 200717 yr Author Like it or not, it's D's ability in MT, not yet the quality of his music, that that has got him some respect from people who previously dismissed him as a pop puppet or reality TV loser and always had to add one of those riders to any positive factual article about D or bias the whole thing according to their own preconceptions and prejudices.
July 29, 200717 yr It was a good plan of his. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v614/megham/08August.jpg
July 29, 200717 yr I love that picture, it really cheers me up and I can hear Faith in Me in my head!!
July 29, 200717 yr I just so loved that he'd got the top for the sites to see. It was one way of getting his message across and it works.
July 30, 200717 yr Author I guess Darius purged any frustration he had about the media's treatment when he wrote "Faith In Me". Sometimes I want him to put a rocket up those who're supposed to work in PR for him, but he never will.
July 30, 200717 yr There not the only ones I'd aim rockets at. Violence is never acceptable, but, I can dream
