August 3, 200717 yr Thank goodness for Phil. He can be funny but he's essential for keeping things vaguely on track. Come to think of it, we could do with him on here.
August 4, 200717 yr quote baytreeYou watched Any Dream Will Do, didn't you, Preston? Do you know the guy I was talking about above? The one who just didn't seem to be able to tone down his "show" voice to suit the songs they were given. Do you mean Keith the young one - cant remember his surname. He had a good voice but to me lacked stage presence and personality. rumoured tohave a record contract. Andrew lloyd webber must be very pleased with the outcome of this show and the BBC so imagine the format will continue with another show. he has managed to get three josephs out of it, the westend production, the tour production and a third joseph who will do two performances a week in addition in the westend.
August 4, 200717 yr They've got more Josephs than they know what to do with. I saw a couple of short snatches of Greece as well. That seemed dire.
August 4, 200717 yr Author You forgot the guy from Joseph who's playing Benjamin /????. I think he's one of the Chris guys. No, Preston, I didn't mean Keith Jack - he can sing but charisma, he has none. I meant a guy who went out mid way through. His name was Anthony I'm sure. He had sticky up hair.
August 4, 200717 yr Yes I remember Chris, he was the one with the teeth and is doing some of the shows on the tour alternating with craig. Ben was the young one who they kept having a go at but I thought was talented but was always given songs outside his range. Nevertheless he has got a leading role in Hairspray. Anthony the one you meant went out early because honsetly he sang way out of tune. on that particular night. Ben would have been great in Grease or any other show dance related because he was a good dancer. Meg says the exerts she saw of Grease were dire and so they may have been, however the boy who won the lead role can be heard on I think its youtube singing nessan dorma together with Ben from the joseph show who will be in hairspray. I think they are both fromn the Italia conti school. The leading boy in Grease has a very good voice much better than the one who is Joseph, lee mead. However the leading girl Susan Mcfadden sister to BM) I thought was weak but I gather she had already played the part in an irish tour so really none of them are exactly amateurs are they.
August 4, 200717 yr Author No, but the auditions were open to all, weren't they? Lee had been understudying for years and he took his opportunity to make the break to a lead role. Good for him. Of them all, I think Ben has come out best with a lead role in a new to the West End musical. Keith Jack seems to be concentrating on getting his album out and Lee Mead is also working on an album with Louis Walsh.
August 4, 200717 yr And we have another year to look forward to Darius gettin his album out. If Darius said in Liverpool that the album was 'all but ready', why do you think he is waiting till 2008 to release? He must have some big plans between now and then to pave the way - I wish he would give us a clue!! :) Julie
August 4, 200717 yr It isn't recorded yet, he's still doing the demos. It has to be fitted into both his plans his labels plans. I'll be delighted if is out soon but I'm certainly not holding my breath. It should be much nearer having the recording completed now than it was when G&D finished.
August 5, 200717 yr Author Well it's getting close to that in 2007. Darius was in LA until the end of April and he's been in the UK since.
August 5, 200717 yr I wonder if he's still here. I was expecting them to be back in LA for their birthddays. When do the boys go back to school?
