Posted July 29, 200717 yr 5 years since I was standing outside HMV with knotted nerves of excitement in my stomach waiting to get my hands on Colourblind, its release alone a dream come true moment. 18 months wait was as nothing when it finally happened. Such heights and depths of emotions had gone into the faith that Darius would achieve his long held ambition to write, record and release his own songs.
July 29, 200717 yr Ah standing outside HMV for hours waiting to buy colourblind and to actually meet Darius for the first time ever. What a day that was and it was great also to meet up with others from SM's site. It's hard to believe it's already five years. So much has changed since then. http://www.dariusworld.org.uk/images/386740f.jpg Edited July 29, 200717 yr by Nina
July 29, 200717 yr Including us. The thing is, when he brings out the next, we'd still be outside waiting.
July 29, 200717 yr Author Yes but we take it all for granted now. It was different back then it was like the culmination of a very hard fought struggle. He was so happy, it almost brought tears to my eyes. 5 years later and he looked every bit as happy when I last saw him, just over a month ago.
July 29, 200717 yr Oh yes, I'll still be there standing outside waiting but it will never be like that first time. I'd never been to a record signing before in my life and I was so nervous, going on my own, wondering if I was mad at my age. It was a brilliant day and the weather was fantastic - really hot and sunny and guess what - Darius was late.
July 29, 200717 yr But, at least he usually tries to fit a little interaction in. Lots wouldn't - even if they weren't late.
July 29, 200717 yr Author Be sure to leave his arms free for the big hug, megham. I can't remember why but I didn't get to the Glasgow signing. I was a bit put out because he'd done the Big Band one on a day I was away. Portent of things to come, I suppose.
July 29, 200717 yr He started training early for the avoidance of BT and Spam. He still sees both of you a lot of times, so it's not perfected yet.
July 29, 200717 yr seems an age ago, I remember being so excited he had reached number one....it has been in incredible journey and darius being Darius has made it far more special than just another popstar's music!!.
July 29, 200717 yr I was so please it wan't a PI song. Not having internet access, I was blind and deaf until near the time it was released. I don't think I'd have bothered for years to get connected if it wasn't for wanting to knopw what was happening
July 29, 200717 yr Author I'd used computers at work for ages and I'd had an internet capable computer at home for years but I needed a reason to finally take the plunge. Darius was the catalyst.
July 29, 200717 yr I had a computer and modem but both were terribly slow and I didn't have enough RAM to access the chat room so Darius spurred me on to buy a new computer and now we have three.
July 29, 200717 yr It's a bit unnerving when you first go on. You don't see the previous post and you are just thrown straight in.
July 29, 200717 yr You have some memory BT :) I can't remember when I bought Colourblind, let alone at what point I started following him on-line :o I didn't go to any signings, just the show case for Dive In at Manchester....with the meet and greet :D The next one was his book then Kinda love ....he really needs to do more ^_^
