Posted July 29, 200717 yr Oooooooh, how exciting: http://www.smh.com.au/news/music/new-dawn-...5647724653.html :w00t:
July 29, 200717 yr Excellent news, though the article seems to suggest that we should forget that MI ever happened...
July 29, 200717 yr Only 4 :( but still =D i can't wait to hear the album, i hope that it doesn't leak, because if it is bad it will effect initial sales!
July 29, 200717 yr They've probably picked the 4 then waiting to see the reaction of fans to pick which one would be the 5th single
July 29, 200717 yr How exciting! I also read that Delta is filming the video for her single in LA in August. And then visiting Australia for promotion of said single at the end of that month! Can't wait to hear the new material!
July 30, 200717 yr ee august!!!! I hope that is true, do you reckon that there will be 2 singles in AUS before the album comes out?
July 30, 200717 yr this is the best possible news :yahoo: thanks to the info Matthew! great article, sony bmg must think its going to be huge! worth the wait!!!
July 30, 200717 yr i hope there will be two singles before the album is out. that was the case for IE and the singles help to promote the album. MI only had one single and then the album, i think she should release two and then the album this time around
July 30, 200717 yr I'm sooooooooooooo excited for the new single whenever we get to hear it!!!!!! I remember being online around midnight or something to listen to first play of 'Out of the blue' on Oz radio B) !
July 31, 200717 yr I don't like that article AT ALL, but the news about the singles is all good, and MI was more about her cancer not mark!
August 1, 200717 yr Oooh very interesting and exciting that they've got 4 singles already set in stone :D Can't wait to hear them!! :) And I hate the perception that MI was a failure. I don't think it was ever intended to a commerical smash but rather an introspective documentation and release for Delta during a testing time in her life. Thats not to say it was a flop and sold poorly, far from it. And the album didn't revolve around Mark, the stupid I wanna call him something worse but it will be censored so grrr  Love, Kirsty xx
August 1, 200717 yr i dont know why the call it a failure. it was the highest selling album of the year, actually i think it was second highest because of missy higgins. anyways it sold 5X platinum which is huge here in australia. most artists (rihanna, christina, fergie) only get platinum status for their albums. i can see when they compare it to innocent eyes that it was a poor seller but innocent eyes was a record that will be in history for ever.
August 1, 200717 yr IE sold over a million in Australia. It's only the second album by an Aussie singer to do that. Even the guys from Sony didn't think it'd reach the million mark .... but it did.
August 2, 200717 yr 14X so yeh that is 980 000 it sold a million so i bet it almost went 15X plat (15 plat is 1.05 mil) MI sold a bit over 350 000. i guess around 400 000. which is great concidering fergie's solo album has sold only 70 000 and Nelly Furtado has sold 140 000 delta still ships a lot of cds in aust :yahoo:

I mean although Delta did get a million for IE (over the xplatinum ships) it doesn't mean she sold 350 000 for MI. Think of Casey Donovan and other Idol failures. She got a 2xP shipment immediately but I don't know if it even sold platinum. Delta's shipments for MI went from 3xP to 5xP. So maybe we could assume that she got around 3xP (210, 000). But there's no evidence/proof of MI total sales anywhere I could find. And although 210, 000 is a success... Delta's campaign flopped when MI came in at #7, the whole Poo/Paris and Brian/Kerry saga. It occurred the whole campaign. One would think how Almost Here would have charted if there were no instores. It wasn't a complete failure because of Ootb and AH... but - instore... and - hype... where would Delta have really stood with MI? (That said with all of Delta's singles that have instores).
August 2, 200717 yr It was nnooooo way a failure, the media are just trying to put her down i think, I don't think an album could have done better than IE did, so it's stupid comparing everything to that!
August 2, 200717 yr Yeah, unfortuantely everything she ever does/did after Innocent Eyes will be compared, however unfair that is. Obviously she will never create that again, it was crazy and extremely rare.
August 2, 200717 yr well i sware i read somewhere that she sold 400 000 copies. hmmm i dont know. so does it mean now that they wont buy in delta's new album because the other didnt sell??!! and i wouldnt slag the MI singles, they still did well. top ten and top twenty are really good. but i do rather number one
