Having left behind their so-so period on Columbia, the Super Furry Animals are now fully back on the very indie Rough Trade label and have their first new single out in a couple of weeks. You may have heard it, it's called 'Show Your Hand' and is without a doubt their most commercially viable single since the immense 'Juxtaposed With U'.

The question is, can they reach the Top 20 like they used to do so frequently or must they be consigned to that area marked 'not cool any more' that houses the likes of Supergrass, Brett Anderson and other bands still producing high quality work but overlooked for the current flavour of the month (and better looking) youngsters?

well i suppose it will reach the low 30s/40s and disapear like the last idlewill chart hit, i suppose i depends on whether if RT's parent share holding company Sanctuary self-combusts in that time, Sanctuary gets taken over by Universal or they sell their share on to someone else. might get lost
