Posted July 30, 200717 yr PREVIEW: http://www.popjustice.com/index.php?option...&Itemid=279 Lyrics taken from her official forums: http://www.sophieellisbextor.net/cgi-bin/u...1621;p=1#000012 If you’re well into your thirties you will probably have a bit of a fit over this and start stomping around using words like ‘sacrilege’ and whatnot before you have even heard it. If you’re not, then know that Sophie Ellis Bextor has covered an ancient 80s hit by Propaganda isn’t going to upset you too much at all. It’s a pretty faithful (‘note-for-note’) homage to the original but considering the original was amazing this is good news, even for crumbly moaners. It is the b-side of the “Today The Sun’s On Us” single. Here are the lyrics (with some instrumental descriptions added) Eye to eye stand winners and losers Hurt by envy, cut by greed Face to face with their own disillusion The scars of old romances still on their cheeks And when blow by blow the passion dies sweet little death Just have been lies the memories of gone by time Would still recall the lie [such swirling keyboard synths] The first cut won't hurt at all The second only makes you wonder The third will have you on your knees [Dynamic keyboard chord strokes] You start bleeding i start screaming [with the words “bleeeeding” and “screeeeeming” stretched out] It's too late the decision is made by fate Time to prove what forever should last Whose feelings are so true as to stand the test Whose demands are so strong as to parry all attempts And when blow by blow the passion dies sweet little death Just have been lies the memories of gone by time Would still recall the lie The first cut won't hurt at all The second only makes you wonder The third will have you on your knees You start bleeding i start screaming I quite like it, doesn't match the other b-sides, Down With Love, Here's To You & Move to the Music, but maybe I will change my mind after a few listens and after I hear the whole song :) Edited July 30, 200717 yr by Kieran

August 2, 200717 yr Author I used to buy like 5-6 singles a month sometimes  depending on whether its a good week :o! I download illegally though so I guess that's why I don't buy singles. I always buy albums though, sometimes I download them first as like a 'try before you buy' lol but if it's somebody like Sophie, Mariah, Gwen, Beyonce, Britney, Christina etc. I will buy it on the day it comes out ;)
