I've Been bullied because of my body"

PINK IS PERFECTLY HAPPY WITH HER BODY IMAGE AND ISN'T AFRAID TO SHOUT IT.

Sexy pop star Pink defends her figure and threatens to quit America.

Maverick singer Pink has always stood out from the crowd and refuses to conforms to the cutesy pop-babe stereotype.

She's fit and healthy, but not the usual industry-standard size zero.

And unlike peers Britney, Paris, Lindsay, she's not a designer-obsessed party girl.

But even though Pink, 27, is sexy in her own right and has never tried to be someone she's not to fit in, she's found herself the victim of bullies.

Pink tells Sunday: "The pressure to be thin and conform sort of stereotype is ridiculous and offensive. I've been picked on and laughed at because of my body even though I'm fit and trained in martial arts. I feel pretty good, the way I am and I don't feel the need to dream about being a stick-thin, 6ft model.

"Other women should not compare themselves to that kind of image either. It's unreal and unhealthy." She Says.

It's a little surprise that Pink - whose real name is Alecia Moore - holds such forthright views, as the wild star isn't scared of controversy.

She rebelied against her parents, had her second nipple pierced backstage last year, has spoken about taking heroin when she was younger, and admits having email sex and poledancing for her motorbike racing-star husband, Carey Hart, 32.

Today Pink maintains that since getting hitched to Carey in january last year, she has tarned her wild ways.

"I'm a calmer now," she says "And that comes from gaining more self-confindence and feeling good about my life. It's great that I can share my life with a really good man.

We get along on so many levels. Carey and I have this connection and we have so much fun traveling and spending time together.

When you have that in your life it's naturally going to heighten the way you project yourself and make your happier and more open. I have great friends. I have a gorgeous and wonderful husband. I surround myself with smarter people. I am trying to be better."

As she talks, you still catch glimpses of Pink's rebelious streak.

In a thinly-veled dig at Paris Hilton, she moans that teen girls have few role models.

"Young women are influenced by the behavior of female celebrites," she says

"This whole party-girl, rich-girl, mindless attitude is becoming more pervarsive.

Women have fought for female independence and equality, then girls like this come along and wipe out all the progress.

"The mindless message they give out is 'Shop, shop, shop, don't contribute and don't think as it's not sexy". I hate the idea women have to spend their lives shopping for clothes and make-up, and dumb themselves down to be cute. It's repulsive and desmeaning and it makes a lot of women sutter because they're expected to behave and look a certain way, and conform to lo(?)/loss/locs of negative images of women.

"It gets on my nerves that there are there very stupid and negative role models about."

Pink was born in Pennsylvania and her parents, James and Judy, divorced when she was eight.

As a child all she wanted to become a singer. She went through phases as skateboarder, hip-hopper and gymnast, as well as spending several teenage years as part of the club scene in Philadelphia, singing guest spots and perfoming for talent shows.

Then in 2000, she released her debut album, Can't Take Me Home, which sold over four million copies worldwide.

Pink remembers her turbulent upbringing with some nostalgia.

"I still have a lot of respect for the girl I was, the rebelious teenager," she explains.

"At heart I'm Still that little punk - and I always will be. I still have very strong memories of being hopeless and completely lost in life.

So many teenagers experience those feelings of isolation. That's why I rebelied.

I wanted something better from the world, but didn't know how to change things for myself.

The mark of a true rebel is that you're not afraid to change your mind." she says. Now, as she settles into married life. Pink is thinking about moving away from the US.

She's currently on a world tour and says one of the countries she is considering putting roots down in is Australia.

"we are looking around," she confirms "I've always felt a connection to Australia.

There's something about the country and the people that agrees with me.

"On this tour I spent time in Sydney and Melbourne. Carey was with me and we had such a great time. We're thinking of buying place somewhere and living part of the year in it. It's just such a beautiful country."

But as yet, she admits, there's no patter of tiny Pink fers/fets.

"Carey really wanted us to have kids when we first met," she says "But I told him that would be taking things a bit too fast, which he was fine with. But now it's my mum that keeps naggine me. All I get from her is 'Why dont you want any babies yet? When am i going to be grandma?'" she laughs
