August 2, 200717 yr here's an easier version to read. keep in mind that there's some movement on the chart. this is the 1st week using the new chart formula, which gives a higher percentage to airplay, lower to sales than before and now includes streaming of songs. .. the new formula is 55% airplay, 40% sales & 5% streaming, from what I've read. So many songs that have big airplay but lower sales made big jumps (Fantasia in finally Top 40, etc...), and songs that had higher sales but little or no airplay drop. August 2, 200717 yr I dont like that new airplay:sales ratio, it should be even. Thanks for posting :D Good to see P!nk get a new peak ^_^
August 2, 200717 yr Doubt that this single will get a UK release although it's brilliant. Because Of You by Reba McEntire Duet With Kelly Clarkson Even though it is a hit with Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire is a country artist and we know how biased against country music the UK record companies are.
August 2, 200717 yr Airplay should not count the most  it should be based more on sales, because its clear that there are many acts who would never have been able to even come close to the top 10 had it been based mostly on airplay.

August 3, 200717 yr Author What was the ratio before? Was it 50:50? quoted from billboard: "The changes to the Hot 100 will take place in the 8/11/07 issue. They've been running test charts all year long. Historically, the Hot 100 formula has been roughly airplay (60%) and sales (40%). The new chart changes will adjust the chart back to it's more historic ratios. Over the last year the chart had seen the ratio for airplay (40%-30%) and sales (60%-70%) change dramatically due to large digital growth in 2006 and 2007. The breakout of the new Hot 100 formula will basically be airplay (55%), sales (40%) and on-demand streaming (5%). Airplay will now include all BDS monitored stations regardless of whether they report to a specific format or not (it will also include the stations removed from the Country panel for not playing enough currents). I can't think of one pop/rock artist who will actually benefit from this bs. If more people are downloading rock than rap, then the singles chart should show that, radio is all about payola anyways. I guess people complained that "pop" acts like Avril and Maroon 5, who actually had the most popular songs in the country, hit #1, since pop acts are supposed to be happy with a #5 peak on the hot 100. " so it was sales 70-airplay 30.airplay has been dwindling from 60-40-30 over the years but now returns to 55 to sales 40. Edited August 3, 200717 yr by shaker
August 3, 200717 yr Well, Fat Girls by Sean Fatston zoomed to the top after the dl was released as expected. HTD is so much better track. And c'mon a dude singing about crimes he did back in '99...he is now a 17-year-old so what kinda gangsta was he when he was 9?? Raping and murdering people? Beating up old ladies? At least his album is heading this week for about 60-70k sales and barely making inside top ten next week so at least people are not exactly rushing to buy the album.
August 3, 200717 yr I must say it's good to see Sean Kingston finally at #1 but huge drops for Aly & AJ and MCR. :( I'm guessing that's due to the new chart rules.
August 3, 200717 yr Its rediculous, its clear that more people would rather be downloading pop/rock songs than RnB songs, the charts should reflect what people would rather be buying than listening to, we dont have a choice what gets played on radio but we do have a choice in which songs go to the top of the charts. Its not fair! acts like Aly and AJ (although im not a fan of them, but still) will probably never see the top 10 or 20 again.
