THE ULTIMATE WILL YOUNG COMPETITION

Hi Alison

That’s right. No word of a lie. We are bringing you the ultimate Will Young competition, exclusive to www.willyoung.co.uk. That’s because the man himself is hosting a rather special dinner party where he will sit down, eat and meet with 15 of his fans – and one of them could be you!

It’s the best competition we’ve ever run, simply visit the site next week to stand a chance of really getting up close and personal with your number one artist.

BBC Proms in The Park

We are finally able to confirm that Will is headlining a stellar line-up at this year’s BBC Proms in the Park. Held at London’s Hyde Park on 8th September, it allows 40,000 music lovers to enjoy the magic and majesty of the much-loved Last Night of the Proms.

Also, joining the line-up are soprano Lesley Garrett, last year’s BBC Young Musician of the Year, clarinettist Mark Simpson, Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez and the BBC Concert Orchestra under the baton of Carl Davis.

The event culminates in a live video link-up with the Royal Albert Hall and a nationwide sing-along to traditional favourites with the help of the Royal Choral Society. The event is hosted for the 12th year by the legendary Terry Wogan.

Gates open at 4.00pm with entertainment on stage from 5.30pm.

Tickets cost £23 (with under-3s going free)

Telephone booking: 0870 899 8100 (24 hrs national rate, £2.50 transaction fee applicable) and from the Royal Albert Hall on 020 7589 8212 (9.00am-9.00pm, £2.50 transaction fee applicable) or online at www.bbc.co.uk/proms.

Televised highlights of all five Proms in the Park events will be shown as part of BBC ONE and BBC Two’s live coverage of the Last Night of the Proms with digital TV viewers able to press the red button to access more.

WIN WILL’S CLOTHES WINNER

We recently offered you the chance to win Will’s safari wardrobe straight off his back, as seen on Saving Planet Earth.

And we’re pleased to announce that Thom Angullia from Portsmouth is the winner. Congratulations Thom, your prize will be with you shortly!

We'll be back with another update very soon, but in the meantime keep an eye on Will's site for the latest info.

Lots of love

Will HQ

:o :o This is the last thing I thought he'd do. Can't understand it at all. What does everyone else think?

Love that there will be another update which means more news. :cheer:

I'm completely amazed that he's doing this..I can't understand why he would want to.

I actually got an e-mail this morning. :o I was so surprised I nearly deleted it. :o

Wonderful to have the Proms confirmed. But as for the comp I can understand if he had done this in the early days, but it just seems odd to do something like this now. Unless Will's gonna cook the meal, and gives a private gig in his front room. Odd number of people too - 15. I'll just have to enter the comp to find out.

I feel the same way. Personally, I hate these sort of comps. but I'm sure there are others who would sell their granny to be able to have this closeness of contact with Will

I could undersatnd him doing a small gig just for the fans and having a drink with them afterwards, but a dinner party can be an awkward affair even amongst friends let alone 16 strangers, no, I wouldn't want to do this at all.

Just been challenged for my comments elsewhere...but I stand by what I said...it's the last thing I would expect him to do...

and no way would I want to be there :o

15 isn't really an odd number - don't forget you have to include the man himself which makes 16 sitting down to a meal.

It's sad that you are made to feel guilty about the way you feel. :(

I would love to go to this but I'm sure I don't stand a cat in hell's chance. Wish he'd chosen to do something a bit more inclusive.

Throw in a choclate fountain and I may enter

No seriously, after being up close at two of the dreaded radio tours, and the saying 'rabbit in the headlights' springs to mind :o

I am suprised though, cos I always thought he looked uncomfortable doing something like that ;), but it's a wonderful opportunity for fans :cheer: :cheer:

I agree...

as for being made to feel guilty, that doesn't work  though it IS annoying being picked up for

quite innocent remarks.

And it's perfectly ok to feel like that hun. I would much prefer front row at an intimite gig myself

I got my e-mail about 10 mins ago and it's the last thing I expected from Will, :o but after meeting loads of us in Manchester, maybe he's realised we're a quite normal bunch after all, :teresa: I've never won a damn thing up to now and I'm definitely entering this one. :yahoo:

I feel much the same suggy except that I've not as yet had the email. Not worrying about it 'cos I've never, to date, won a darn thing so I quess my chances are slim to none. I freely admit I shall be jealous of hell of the lucky bug*ers who do win this though :D

Lmao Oooh I may enter this comp :kink:

I didn't expect that aswell, and I wonder how this dinner could turn! LOL 15 fans wanting to talk to Will, looking at him during the whole thing etc etc... I would be embarassed lol :P

Anyway, I wouldn't say no ^_^

Thanks to Bumbling who found this, it's been added to news but underneath yesterday and todays updates.

I am still a bit speechless after hearing this news :o

 I had a feeling it would be a comp. It's different - just hope it's true fans who win and not just people who enter all comps. That will be sad. He's certainly full of surprises :P

Good luck anyone who enters.

No way. sitting there..knocking food off my plate..spilling my drink..saying absolutely nothing to anyone all night, trying to avoid eye contact in case i catch his gaze and he ASKS me something :o   . not for me.

good luck to everyone who goes in for it .

I love him ...but wouldn't want to get to near in case i lost the plot like EllafitzG
