August 4, 200717 yr It's available on region 1 in the US.... Like the promo shot, looks a bit like a White Stripes album cover.....
August 4, 200717 yr so its worth getting then? Not watched it yet mate... Am downloading episodes one and two to check them out... ;)

August 6, 200717 yr the reviewer (could be Charlie Brooker cant be sure tho) said it was a cool show, quite bizarre in places but worth while Bizarre it is, but it is really quite compelling stuff based on my viewing of the first two episodes... Micheal C Hall (who starred as David in the brilliant "Six Feet Under") is frankly terrific in the lead role, very convincing, I'd say he would deserve an Emmy Nomination without question. Think of a cross between "CSI Las Vegas", "Profiler", "American Psycho" (the book as opposed to the film..), "Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer" and "Nip Tuck", and you get the idea of just how good "Dexter" is... There is a LOT of potential here and the central premise of a serial killer working as a Police Forensic scientist and hunting and killing other serial killers (Dexter is basically a serial killer of serial killers...) who escape justice due to legal technicalities, is a very intriguing, and pretty fresh, one indeed.... I recommend this show very highly... The episodes I've seen so far merit a 10/10 mark, here's hoping the show's writers can keep up the consistency and high standard of writing...
August 6, 200717 yr I've only seen the first episode so far, as I haven't had time to sit down at watch the whole first season ... but I agree, it's impressive, well written, and excellently acted. Somewhat different to the books, much more powerful for me. Can't wait to see the rest - I wish it was picked up by a more mainstream channel than FX here, though! It makes viewing more awkward!
August 7, 200717 yr Can't wait to see the rest - I wish it was picked up by a more mainstream channel than FX here, though! It makes viewing more awkward! The only mainstream channel I can see picking this up would be Channel 4.. It's deffo up their alley... They gave us "The Sopranos" and "Six Feet Under", so I could see them possibly showing "Dexter"....
October 2, 200717 yr I'm watching it right now and it's a bit scary, i must say.... I mean, there a lot of blood and blood-talking, i dont like it as i get sick immidiately. But Micheal is realy convincing, really, he looks sexy yet so dangerous, when he looks at sth it seems like hes a monster... uh... :D Ok, but it is really scary movie :) I recommend it but you should first read the book. This explains a lot more and a tv show is then to add some details..
October 2, 200717 yr First series is utterly marvellous; along with the excellent "Jekyll", one of the best TV dramas I've seen in a very long time... The twist in the tail that came in the last couple of episodes was extremely well masked and totally unexpected, but at the same time, incredibly logical... I had a few doubts about whether they should have made another series, because it all seemed so perfectly self-contained as a one-off drama series, but I've downloaded the first couple of pre-air episodes from series two, and the high standard of writing, acting and directing certainly seems to be continuing.... Dexter is a top quality show and I would happily recommend it anyone who likes good quality drama....
March 3, 200817 yr Author Dexter is a top quality show and I would happily recommend it anyone who likes good quality drama.... yeah man your too right!!! its cool and i will be watching the series. the only problem is with the voice over - even tho he's great as dexter - there's something not quite right about the voice-over - but i think this might have been due to my mum saying it sounded to much like dragnet.. http://gallery.digitaleportfolio.nl/albums/userpics/10001/yuko.jpg well lets hope dexter doesnt end up driving an unmarked 1987 Zastava Yugo..." a Yugoslavian import donated to the department as a test vehicle by the government of that country and reflecting the cutting edge of Serbo-Croatian technology"
March 3, 200817 yr Its been picked up by ITV1 & 4, started last week after the news on Wednesdays, I saw the first eppy, to be honest its not my cup of tea, it just got a bit boring half way through, overall I was not impressed.

Well, tbh, what were you expecting...? Just another crappy cop show or summat...? "Dexter" is like "The Wire" inasmuch as it's a bit of a slow burner, but if you stick with it, you do get a hell of a pay off... "Dexter" is like a novel you have to read all the way through, wheras most other TV drama shows of this type (like the CSIs) are more like comic books....
March 5, 200817 yr Agreed ^ I think the first few episodes are great, but to be appreciated the show has to be viewed as a season, rather than individual episodes.

May 12, 200916 yr Just finished watching the second season, I love this programme! Rita  Dexter  Why is this not HUGE its like better than Lost, Heroes, Desperate Housewive by a mile.
May 26, 200916 yr Really enjoying series 3 atm... The inclusion of Jimmy Smits is quite inspired... His assistant DA character's kind of like a reversal of Doakes, with a bit of his brother from series 1 mixed in as well.... The way this series seems to be going is that Dexter and the Smits character may become a vigilante "team".... The stuff with Rita is interesting also...
