I'm not sure if this is definitely happening but apparently there will be a 20 metre square screen in Festival Square, Edinburgh for the 12 days of the Edinburgh Film Festival (15 - 26 August), which will be showing a promotional video spot for Thistle and Broom so it will show Darius and Aria and others 20 metres tall using photos taken to promote Thistle and Broom and what they are trying to achieve. The video should be shown twice an hour throughout the festival.

I know they're tall but not 20ft. If it were in London, I'd go and have a look.

WoW!! That certainly will be a BIG D!!! :D

At least the people of Edinburgh should have him firmly planted in their minds by the end of the Festival!!

( I wonder who he was modelling for when he was interviewed in Liverpool!? I thought we may see an advert in a show programme, magazine, billboard, etc., but nothing!! Unless, they meant he was modelling, i.e. walking down a catwalk with

designer clothes on? - I guess we will never know, as usual!! :( )

At leas photos can't move or talk to you. It's when he looks at her or talks to her it goes wrong.

Stick on broken a depending - you get the gist.

I'm away until the 16th. After that, if no-one else has posted anything, I'll fit in a special trip to Auld Reekie if there's a decent day. I usually avoid Edinburgh at festival time because it's far too busy.

Sometimes these things don't come to light for months afterwards. Especially if it's for a charity campaign or something, which requires a lot of work after an initial photoshoot.

You can take a photo of a photo of Darius in a kilt. it'll be good practise.

Just putting a few missing letters in - so you stand a chance of understanding it.

I hope it isn't the one with the green sweater. I didn't like that top at all. It didn't go well with his kilt.

I think that was the year he was supposed to wear a new cashmere design, but it wasn't ready on time and they stuck him in that thick woollen one instead.

If it is actually a video I wonder if it will be something new that he has done - i.e. he may actually talk as well as model!!

That would be brilliant!!!

Does anyone know if this has actually happened or not? BT?

It would be lovely to know that Darius is actually getting some kind of publicity somewhere in the UK!! :D

Thanks for bumping the thread. I'd forgotten about it.

I'll definitely try to go into Edinburgh some time next week. Tuesday looks like my best option at the moment.

Thanks BT!

Have you ever been to the Festival before? I have been reading some of the reports on whatsonstage.com and it certainly seems that there is plenty going on. Will you try to catch a show?

Julie

There's too much going on for me. It's like picking your way through a minefield of information. I usually wouldn't go anywhere near Edinburgh at Festival Time.

I started to quite like Edinburgh again during Darius's G&D run but if I had to be there in all the crowds of street performers and crowded restaurants etc., I'd probably remember why I stopped bothering to go there although it's so quick and easy.
