It was too busy for us as well. The first time I went was Festival time. I've avoided it ever since.

Do we know if this ever happened?

BT said she would try to get into Edinburgh on Tuesday - hopefully she has something to report when her Broadband is fixed! :D

Torture! I think I'd rather be snowed in and still have the internet.

I did go to Edinburgh on Tuesday after a couple of hitches but I don't have any thing to show for it, I'm afraid.

I was late in getting away because I'd to wait in for the first engineer. Then my train was stopped at Haymarket and we had to change to another platform. I presume it was a fault on the line between Haymarket and Waverley because, the train I'd got off took on passengers and headed back to Glasgow.

It was half past four by the time I got there. i went into the the tourist information and asked where festival Square was and she marked it on a plan. It seemed pretty out of the way to me but who was I to argue. My gut feeling was right - I followed the plan and eventually got to a dismal patch of grass in a side street. Of course it wasn't Festival Square - that was just a wee bit down Lothian Road, not far from the end of Princes Street.

There was a big screen but no bigger than the regular ones. I bought some sandwiches and a drink from the snack bar and settled down to watch. There were endless trailers for all of the films featured in the Edinburgh International Film Festival. I was there for ages and it was getting dark when a set of other adverts came on - the main one being a longish one for World Vision featuring Rolf Harris and then one of about 30 seconds for.........................

Thistle and B..........room but it only featured women who all looked like regular models - i didn't recognise any of them as Scottish 'personalities'. I tried to video it but by the time the camera started I only caught the end Thistle and Broom screen.

I didn't see any point in waiting another hour to see if the same one came round or maybe one with guys - Sorry.

Well, at least you got something to eat and drink. It seems about right waiting for ages for not much. Thank you for trying BT. I've had many a less successful trip.

It was worth the shot and at least it was a dry day! I'd been stuck in the house for so long getting out and travelling through to Edinburgh was a bit of excitement.

I was so bored without the internet and waiting around for people to get back to me, I even finished the rug I started years ago.

I feel lost without the phone - we still have Dave's though - it was my line he cut, not his.
At least I had my mobile last week. I had to actually charge it for once. The family make fun of me because it's either not working or switched off when they ring me. Frankly I've just never warmed to the thing at all. I'd rather do without than be bothered with it.

I keep mine on but, if it needs charging, I leave it anf that's when someone phones. It's just so expensive pay as you go but I don't want another bill
I think if I had a contract, I'd be using it just for the sake of justifying the cost. I'm better off with PAYG

It just means that I only use it when I have to. It is useful at times though.

Thanks for trying BT - at least the trip to Edinburgh took your mind off your broken internet!! :)

When I think of Edinburgh at the moment I think of wind, rain and cold. Next time, I'm hoping for sun.
You'd be better to wait until round about Easter I should think, unless the September Indian Summer really happens. Somehow I doubt it.
