Posted August 4, 200717 yr Never realised this until I just spotted it on TRWS now, a day late but oh well. It has been four years since the legendary three nights at Knebworth on Aug 1st, 2nd & 3rd. The biggest concerts in British history with a record breaking 375,000 people, also the biggest selling concet DVD in history as well. :w00t: Without any doubt the gig that will always be considered his best ever, he was in his prime and full of so much energy, it is definatly one of the greatest concerts I have EVER seen and will ever see. He proved that he is the greatest live performer on earth, not in a million years could any of todays pop stars put on a show even remotyl close. Simply legenday  http://www.knebworthhouse.com/rock/robbiewilliams/imagesweb/aerial1.jpg http://www.knebworthhouse.com/rock/robbiewilliams/imagesweb/IErwenters.jpg http://www.therobbiewilliamssite.com/05.jpg http://www.knebworthhouse.com/rock/robbiewilliams/imagesweb/IErwsings.jpg http://www.knebworthhouse.com/rock/robbiewilliams/imagesweb/IEendbow.jpg The Sun's review from 2003, and Vicky Newton praising him, thanks to PR. ROBBIE'S KING OF POP DELIGHTED Robbie Williams fans last night delivered their verdict on his Knebworth spectacular — and declared: “HE’S the one!” Robbie wowed 375,000 over three nights at the Hertfordshire stately home, the biggest crowd in British music history. And last night ecstatic fans swamped The Sun with phone calls and emails to hail 29-year-old Robbie as the king of pop. Lisa With, of Basildon, Essex said: “I went to see Robbie on Saturday and he is one hell of an entertainer. “The weather was hot and everybody just joined in the fun of the occasion. “The whole day was great — one that I do not think I will ever experience again.” Shirley Davenport, of Basingstoke, Hants. said: “I was absolutely amazed by how fantastic a performer Robbie is. “I have never felt such a rush of mixed emotions in one evening. It was totally mind-blowing. One minute I was completely awed by his presence and his performance and the next minute I felt I needed to mother him. “His reaction at the amount of people there admiring him and hanging on his every word and movement was breathtaking.” Tracy Bowman, of Witney, Oxfordshire, said: “Robbie was amazing and very emotional about the size of the crowd, saying that he couldn’t believe that so many people still liked him! “I would just like to say thank you to Robbie for not only giving us a magical concert but also for being a true star. “Long may you continue to shine and we look forward to seeing you again in Britain soon.” Kellie Beale, of Stroud, Gloucs, said: “Thank you Robbie for a truly wonderful experience. You are the entertainer and may you carry on for many years to come.” Sarah Boorman, from Chelmsford, Essex, added: “I have never been to an event like it. It was phenomenal. He is the best entertainer we have and there will never be another gig to match it.” Cyberspace was also buzzing with Robbie mania. Here are just a few of the emails we received. Karen, who did not leave a last name, said: “I went along as not really a huge Robbie fan. “I can honestly say I was totally blown away, the guy was amazing, he worked the whole crowd. It was the best concert I have been to. He was genuinely blown away by the number of people there.” Tracey Alway said: “Words cannot describe how I felt when Robbie came on stage. It was magic.” Irene Mercer said: “Robbie was awesome, fantastic! I saw him two years ago at Milton Keynes. He was even better this time round.” Hayley, Lindsay and Jo said: “Robbie was absolutely brilliant. It was our first concert and we loved every minute.” Traffic police were hoping the roads chaos that marred Friday night’s gig would not be repeated last night. Thousands of disappointed fans were still stranded in traffic jams on surrounding roads as Robbie took the stage on Friday night. Saturday was less congested. But on both nights fans had to wait up to six hours to get out of packed car parks after the gigs ended. ROBBIE dedicated his song She’s The One to a married couple in the crowd — then broadcast their kiss to millions of viewers. Before launching into the hit he chatted to the couple who said they had been married five years and had a daughter Sophie and a son Joseph. Robbie made them kiss three times — and their embraces were flashed on the giant Knebworth screen and broadcast to millions watching live on Channel 4 on Saturday night. Robbie said: “Ahhhh. Who said romance is dead?” — then dedicated the song to them -------------------------------------------------- And Vicky's review :cheer: Victoria Newton's Robbie verdict THIS was, without any doubt, the best live show I’ve ever seen. Robbie’s ability to hold an audience — especially one of almost 125,000 — is simply breathtaking. He may go on to write his name in rock music history — but this will always be one of his greatest achievements. Whatever you think of the man, he has the enthusiasm, wit and heart few others can get into a performance. The beginning was electrifying. As Robbie descended like a bat, he shook every ounce of nervous energy from the crowd as he broke into Let Me Entertain You. Knebworth is a natural amphitheatre and from the beginning he held it in the palm of his hand. Robbie is a showman. But seldom has he put on a show like this. The sets, the scintillating backing dancers, the command of the stage and the dexterity with which he worked the audience was the show of a man at the peak of his profession. Robbie is simply the best entertainer this country has produced in the past decade and I can’t think of another UK artist who could sell out three days at Knebworth. The anthem She’s The One was a goose-bump moment, as was the singalong Angels. Then as powerfully as it had started it finished ... or so we thought. For just as we were wandering exhausted back across the fields, Robbie charged back again with an anarchic Sex Pistols-style version of Take That song Back For Good. It was the thrashy, final bass drum kick of a class act, who knows how to deliver a knockout finale. Even the hottest names in today’s pop charts, like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles, could only dream of shifting as many tickets as Robbie did or giving them a show like this. He is truly an icon for the new millennium. LMEY/LLBYE JeDLEuR96_Y Monsoon WcIPJojwZfg Feel cvnOSDstWkQ Rock DJ -y64azNZvDw Angels sQxZztI7264

August 5, 200717 yr Author I recken the next tour will be alot smaller, and won't be till 2009 due to the fact he will most likely release a new album sometime next year and usually a tour is the year after. :( We should all start savings now, and then we could go to loads of gigs whenever he does tour. :P
August 5, 200717 yr Good idea, will start saving now I've still yet to make front row :w00t: he seems to tour every 3 years?
August 5, 200717 yr Author Yeah, he certainly has over the past two or three tours. But since he is getting older I think he will be more like U2 and tour every 4-5 years.
August 6, 200717 yr It's still blowing me away when I watch the DVD  Let me entertain you is just amazing and I still feel it's the best concert opener by far :o Genuinly enjoyed watching the whole concert except for Me an my monkey :( For some reason I always get bored when i watch it and most of the time I skip that part :o
