August 7, 200717 yr who mentioned 14 year olds? im on about preteens, little girls that are being shown via pop vids AMONGST OTHER FACTORS that are sexualising them at an early age. sure no one watching 'dirrty' will go out and do it, but it softens them up, preparing the ground, lowering the boundaries. i know, ive seen junior school kids performing dance routines which involves moves of a sexual nature. they should be playing hop-scotch, skipping, rounders, not practising dance routines to emulate adult females performing in a 'sexy' way. theres always been drinking, we did it but we didnt automatically go shagging! neither would todays children if they werent already 'primed' to behave in that way. The biggest factor ahead of anything is peer pressure Peer pressure on perfectly healthy young girls to be walking skeletons and starve themselves even though they are not remotely fat in the first place Peer pressure to smoke and do drugs Peer pressure to make people who have not lost their virginity by 16 to feel like lepers and social outcasts And so on and so on One bad apple in a teenage or pre teen gang can corrupt and poison the good apples
August 7, 200717 yr Realistically no child is going to watch Dirrty or the like and think 'I want those clothes!' More likely really if they're only 12 is that they'd be embarassed to watch a raunchy vid in the same room as their parents, and flick over! you dont know many preteen kids do you ! :) it isnt a case of watching 1 vid, its a case of watching most music vids by female artistes, (mostly but not exclusively) that portray females as sex objects time and time again. you yourself sees nothing wrong with the vid for 'sweet dreams my la ex' , as you have grown up with those images whereby females have to be more and more 'sexy', you and your generation are used to it,.. proof that you accept these lower standards, standards that condone women being seen as sexual objects. its pretty obvious that children growing up in those standards will see nothing wrong in enacting them eventually (and too soon).

MTV and so on are Europe wide channels though Rob so the same sleazy video is shown to pre teens and teens right across Europe but the sex obsession and the drinking obsession and drug taking obsession seems to be very much a British disease, if these videos were the problem then all other countries would be facing the same crisis but Britain is way ahead of any other European nation in under age drinking, under age drug taking, under age sex and so on so there is something in THIS country that is causing the problem
