Posted August 7, 200717 yr Journey South Announce New Album & New Label Source: Journey-South.co.uk We are delighted to announce that Journey South's second album 'Home' will be released on October 15th 2007, with a single released on 8th October 'That's what I love about home'. In conjunction with management we would also like to let you know that owing to the number of projects being released at SYCO/SONYBMG, the new Journey South album was to be pushed back to 2008. The band and management were unhappy with this decision and asked to be relinquished from their contract to pursue the release of their new album 'Home' independently in October 2007. With the support and good wishes of SYCO/SONYBMG this has now happened and the single and album will be released on ANCA Records LLP a new label set up by Journey South through outside investors and the guys own money. Journey South are currently putting the finishing touches to the album in Sweden. A new photoshoot for the album and single covers has just taken place and video treatments are in for the first promo. The guys are really excited about being in control of their own destiny and are having fun running their own label, making all the decisions as well as creating some fantastic music. The new album contains 11 self-written or co-written tracks and is a true reflection of the bands abilities as great song craftsmen.
August 7, 200717 yr Cowell clearly thought the album would be a massive flop otherwise he would not have agreed to cancel their contract
August 7, 200717 yr Author Yeah I don't think it will be a big success but I've a gut feeling it won't be a big flop. I expect it will get top 25.
August 7, 200717 yr Does anyone actually care about these guys any longer?! They played near me at the Wellingborough 'Party In The Park' for free... hardly the sort of place an in demand act would appear! I predict a disaster of Steve Brookstein proportions for their second LP. And believe me, that's bad...
August 7, 200717 yr Yeah I don't think it will be a big success but I've a gut feeling it won't be a big flop. I expect it will get top 25. I would be surprised if it even makes Top 75 let alone Top 25 Cruise ships and Butlins beckon for Journey South
August 7, 200717 yr I would be surprised if it even makes Top 75 let alone Top 25 Cruise ships and Butlins beckon for Journey South they have really waited to long between albums. Andy Abrhams's second album strugled and it was released just 7months after thie first
August 7, 200717 yr they have really waited to long between albums. Andy Abrhams's second album strugled and it was released just 7months after thie first Yeah exactly They are yesterday's news Another X Factor will have nearly finished before this album is released and all the hype will be about the albums of 2007 X Factor contestants, no one will care about Journey South in the media Edited August 7, 200717 yr by Vic Vega
August 7, 200717 yr If you don't win x factor, then no'one remembers you after your first album. Take that steve guy who won the 1st series, Got a platinum album 1st time round, secnd album a year later, Peak #164. :o

I predict a disaster of Steve Brookstein proportions for their second LP. And believe me, that's bad... Yeah I know what you mean but I'm absolutely certain they'll do better than Steve Brookstein. I can't quite catch what it is but there is something about Journey South that people seem to like more than other Music Reality TV contestants and they are releasing a single and the video will be sent to Video Channels so whilst I agree with you all that sadly it probably won't do well, hopefully it will get top 40 at least. Even if it doesn't, I do believe it will get top 50 at least.

Just look at G4 and although he was from a different show, also look at Lemar.

August 9, 200717 yr Author Thanks for posting up the statement with regards to Journey South , I wish them all the very best for their record label and new single and album due out very soon the demos on myspace sound brilliant No worries and yeah I agree with you about the demos. 'Thats What I Love About Home' is hotly tipped and I along with others feel it could big a big commercial hit and it is very friendly. It is in parts quite like Kelly Clarkson's 'Breakaway' which was the most played song in The US in 2006 so that bodes well. 'Thats What I Love About Home' is being released as a physical and downloadable single followed by the album titled 'Home'. The guys really are two truly talented individuals.
August 9, 200717 yr good on them for leaving though and not taking $h!t and being kept pushed back until being probably dropped. my mam was a huge fan and we went to see them, plus they come from were i live, which i rare, they were brilliant live and id be willing to give the 2nd album a chance, im glad theres alot of self written stuff as there was far too many covers on the debut.
August 9, 200717 yr Author Yeah and the two original songs 'All Of You' and 'All That I Am' which were on their debut were in my opinion fantastic songs and were both or at least one of them, crying out to be released as singles. Their second album consists purely of their own stuff and of what I've heard so far, it is all very, very good.
August 9, 200717 yr Just an update the single will now be released on the 15 th October with the album on the 22nd of October . The demos are great and All of You was my favourite on the first album .
August 9, 200717 yr Journey South recently played to an audience of 6000 supporting Michael Bolton. Great news about the new album. They are very talented and I wish them the very best of luck. Edited August 9, 200717 yr by topaz-rose
